Good.... Shouldn't be ****ing with a bull.... the way I see it, if you are trying to kill an animal, but instead it kills you, ZERO sympathy. I honestly wish this would happen enough that they would stop the practice of bullfighting all together.

Whoa, that's crazy if that's what they do to the bulls.

From an anti bullfighting site but I saw a similiar report on a news show...

"The bull is not an aggressive animal, and the reason he is angry and attempts to charge at the matador whilst in the bullring is mainly because he has been horrendously abused for the previous two days. In fact, what spectators see is not a normal, healthy bull, but a weakened, half-blinded and mentally destroyed version, whose chances of harming his tormentors is virtually nil. The bull has wet newspapers stuffed into his ears; vaseline is rubbed into his eyes to blur his vision; cotton is stuffed up his nostrils to cut off his respiration and a needle is stuck into his genitals. Also, a strong caustic solution is rubbed onto his legs which throws him off balance. This also keeps him from lying down on the ground. In addition to this, drugs are administered to pep him up or slow him down, and strong laxatives are added to his feed to further incapacitate him. He is kept in a dark box for a couple of days before he faces the ring: the purpose of this is to disorientate him. When he is let out of the box, he runs desperately towards the light at the end of the tunnel. He thinks that at last his suffering is over and he is being set free — instead, he runs into the bullring to face his killers and a jeering mob."
I'm not sure about some of this. I think Bulls are somewhat aggressive animals. I can't see that much torture to piss him off. Just look at bull riders in the U.S.. Those bulls seem pretty agressive and they have to have clowns to protect the riders after he's off. Surely they don't torture them other than trying to ride them.

Even the movie Jackass has a scene where they are trapped in a pen with a bull. The bull seemed pissed off as hell that they were even in there. Don't think they tortured that bull before they shot the scene. You would have thought the bull would have killed them if he had the chance but his horns had been dulled down of course. Just my opinion though.

I always cheer for the bull. Too bad he got killed anyway; they should be rewarded by becoming a stud or something when they "win" the bullfight. Unequal rewards... the bullfighter is knee-deep in Spanish poon and the bull gets speared to death. He should be King Bull for the day.

At least they don't have guns.... still fail to see how hunting for sport is viewed as completely acceptable, while other ways of killing animals are apprehensible.

Oh, animal rights activists (and most people who see the sport for what it is rather than letting cultural relativity and history cloud their judgement) hate them some bullfighting. It's just that in Spain and Latin America it's such an engrained part of the culture of sport that it's basically untouchable within those countries. There are plenty of people in those countries of course that don't approve, but much like cockfighting, there are plenty of societies and people within them that see no issues with the sport, or probably more accurately, choose to overlook them out of respect/reverence/enjoyment for the sport and/or its history and cultural significance.

Most of this stuff they do to the bull isn't about making him agressive as much as they are handicapping him then enraging/confusing him beyond his normal behavior patterns
