Purchases you regret
I heard this topic on the radio about bad buying decisions you have made. Mine would have to be my first HDTV that I could barely fit into my basement, it cost me $4000 back in 2001, I had to remove a wall to get in into my basement. I Recently got rid of it because it became unwatchable, I had to take it apart to get it out. Not only did I pay too much for it, it caused a lot of grief between my wife and I.Tags: None -
Re: Purchases you regret
A sectional sofa.
My wife and I bought this sectional that was so long! One side was two reclining chairs that barely fit in the doorway. We had to take the front door off and the wooden hand rail off the wall going down the staircase.
The other piece was a sofa bed which was a nightmare. No way that was going through the front door. They had to carry it up the patio steps and through the sliding patio doors. Then had to carry it down the stairs where it was a pretty tight fit. The wooden banisters were dinged to heck and the walls were bashed up pretty good.
Oh and did I mention the movers brought TWO sofa beds to begin with and not the reclining chairs?
I dread moving them if we ever leave our house. -

Re: Purchases you regret
Isn't that a given?
Kinda wish I hadn't gotten my first HDTV...a 300lb. 52" rear projection. Very good picture, but it's a beast to move anywhere.
Wish I hadn't bought a Guitar Hero bundle. Couple weeks later somebody breaks in and steals my PS3.Comment

Re: Purchases you regret
FTW.
Other than that, a 512 MB MP3 player I bought back in 2005 for $120 including the warranty. I've gotten my moneys worth out of it, but when you look at what's out there now, you realize what little you got for the money you spent."The best thing about being a football player at Alabama...winning...winning." -Mark Barron

Re: Purchases you regret
For me, it might be the Ping Pong table that sits in my parents' wine cellar at least 363 days per year. It only comes out for the family Christmas party or if I happen to have people over interested in playing some Ping Pong. I bought it with the money from my first job in 9th grade, and I'm pretty sure my parents bought it because I never actually GAVE them the money unless they took it from my bank account, but, 8 years later, I can think of plenty of things to spend the $300 on.Originally posted by DaImmaculateONeHow many brothers does Sub-zero running around in his clothing? Re: Purchases you regret
All of the games I bought and sold back shortly thereafter growing up. I don't know why I threw away money so much, considering I never had money much in the first place.
Now I'm more responsible with my purchases... but still don't have much money. How does that happen?(rhetorical, please don't answer)
NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
