Re: VUVUZELAS The Most Annoying Sound On Earth
You guys just don't get it.
This year's World Cup is so huge, in the entire history of the competition. Just think about how incredible it would be to be in South Africa - and actually understanding what sacrifices that nation went through.
The vuvuz (as my father calls it, he's in SA) - are symbolic of what incredible unity the nation has now. The World Cup sounds are going to be of the vuvuz - that is a great thing. The team-by-team chants are drowned out - why? Because this is the PEOPLE's game. This is the nation of South Africa, my friends. Embrace it, cause if you notice if they're not even from the nationality of the teams playing - you'll see some African kids just having a blast blowing those horns.
This is football/soccer at its purest form. It took a long time to get back to the way the game is supposed to be played - and what the beautiful game is all about.
If you don't understand it, fine. Don't say anything - because you don't know who you're disrespecting when you're saying such things. You call yourself soccer enthusiasts...well find out why you truly love the game, and remember that the reasons you love it - might be so far away from why another individual loves it.

The video is a great sentiment, but anyone can post a number of videos for related sports displaying the majesty, sacrifice and dedication of those in the given sport. Actually, your statement is the kind of thing that further splinters those who are passionate about soccer and those who don't give a rat's. It comes across as a "soccer transcends all other sports" depiction. I like hockey.... and I'm not Canadian; I can't even skate, but that doesn't mean I'm going to convince those that don't like it to love it or even watch it.
Here's what I don't understand: hooligans, crowd riots and some players over the years reportedly being killed because they made a bad move that cost their country the game. I don't think vuvuzelas are going to be able to do much about that.Comment

Why is it always when someone doesn't like something they "just don't understand".
Just because you find something incredibly annoying doesn't mean you don't understand it.Comment

I ordered two of the them so my wife and I can blow them during our son's soccer matches.

What you posted is like a political speech. Saying a lot without addressing the point that the horns are irritating and nobody outside of South Africa likes them.Comment
