I'm not a soccer fan, but I've caught parts of a few matches this year, and I have to mute the sound because it's so annoying. I don't know how anyone could stand to listen to that for 90 minutes.

Watching the US England game was near impossible thanks to this annoying sound.
I actually had to turn off my new surround sound system, they need to ban these now!
I have read that people actually are not watching anymore until they are banned.

Pretty sure the organizers have said (recently) that they decided not to ban them.

After watching the entire Confederation's Cup, I barely even notice them, now. I can see how annoying they can be, though. I remember being pissed during the ConfedCup.

I barely notice them as well. But then again I'm good at blocking out things if i'm trying to focus on something(watching a game, work, working out, etc)

They not ever going to ban it because that is a huge part of the soccer culture. That would be like banning twirling towels at NFL games or NBA games.

Soccer culture? They are only like 10-15 years old, this has nothing really to do with the history of South Africa. I don't have a problem with them as long as they would only blow them when they should, on goals. Blowing them the whole time is just stupid.

They shouldn't be claiming that the plastic horn is an African tradition to keep them from getting banned.

I like them.

Watch more than 5 minutes of a match and pay attention to it, and you will get used to it. But that's probably too much to ask.

I have ZERO problem with th vuvuzelas. Those ridiculous 'thunder sticks', on the other hand....
