    Nice work!

I need to replace my chip for my Nike+; I didn't realize how much I relied on that thing until it died. Now I have no clue how far I run (I don't have a watch or pedometer), but it's probably in the 3-5 mile range, as I tend to go on 30-40 minute runs these days.

My first race tomorrow (a 5k). I'm a little worried about how I'll do. I ran 5 miles last Saturday and hurt the top of my foot. I tried running yesterday and thought I got shot in the foot. It could just be a case of me not stretching good enough. Any one have any tips?

Just picked up a pair of these bad boys:

Ran for about 25 minutes today, and pretty much forgot I even had shoes on. So freakin comfortable and light. Never realized how much of a difference a nice pair of running shoes could make.

Running will be my main source of weight loss for the summer. I've always loved running, and as i'll be combining it with intermittent fasting, i'm looking to lose some serious weight.

Well, I didn't think much of it after I iced it, but my right knee (well, the outside of my right knee) is killing me after today's run. I don't know quite what it is, as it's outside of my knee, and the pain runs from down from my knee to a little bit below it.

Does this sound like runner's knee to anyone else? I looked into getting a knee strap, but I don't want to drop 20 bucks on a good one for no reason. I'm gonna take it easy until the pain goes away, but I wanted to get some opinions if this was something you guys have experienced before. I've run quite a bit more this week than I have for a long time (couple miles three times this week), along with a sprint at the end of every run to really get the heartrate up.

Wish I had some advice but I haven't experienced any knee pain. Only thing I do after runs that helps me is the ice tub for 20 minutes...That just helps general soreness and probably wouldn't help you at all.

Make sure you build up to it as well Kearnzo. I know now that i'm getting a bit older running absolutely destroy's me way more than it used to so maybe look into a couch to 5k program or something like that. You could simply be trying to do too much too soon and your body will let you know in a hurry.

Those look comfortable. I'm in need or new running shoes, or actual running shoes. I currently run in a pair of casual Puma's which I also wear for everyday use. They haven't given me any foot issues, but I'm sure my perfomance will improve if I had a pair of running shoes.

Well. I survived. I finished in about 36 minutes and that is with walking the last mile. One thing that makes me nervous is the fact that I started out with pain in my calf and then my whole right leg went numb. I know some of it may be caused because I run "up and down" (back straight up, bouncing with a short stride) I basically couldn't feel anything in my right leg for the final mile. I wear a knee strap on my left leg, should I be wearing one on the right too?

I had what you are describing once on both knees. I actually had to stop during runs and walk back on a few occasions. The pain was pretty high. It happened when my wife was home on maternity leave and I was running everyday. I just over did it and it wore me out. After taking a week off I went back to running 3-4 times a week and haven't had the problem since.

When I first started running I told myself I wouldn't get caught up in getting the "right" gear (shoes, clothing etc.) I run about 4 miles every other day and go to about 7 on the weekends. right now I can get in about a 9:45 pace, something I'm working on. The heat has spiked here in NC, making it pretty brutal if I don't run in the early morning. I ran 4 miles on Sunday afternoon and was worn out.

I really do enjoy it though. Right now my challenge is weight loss. I'm noticing loss of weight in my legs and arms. I don't want to be too small there. Just trying to figure out what to do so I can still run and also not get too skinny.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I have only ever been an Asics guy

The beauty of shoes though is it really depends on who is the runner...One shoe is not the best that is for sure!

Side note: Created my schedule for marathon training. Begins in 3 weeks

I love Asics and my last two pairs have been from them. My current shoes (Asics Kayano 17's) are the best I have ever owned bar none. Very light and very comfortable.

I booked myself in to see a podiatrist next week, I still keep getting left foot pain and really sore calf muscles like I have pulled something. Time to get it sorted properly....

Agreed. Kayano's are the only line I have as well...Started last year with the 15's and have had the 16's and a pair of 17's as well.

Those Gold ones are 17's as well...Will need to get those within the next 3 weeks for Marathon training.
