Just saw on espn that Joey said if Kobayashi was a real man he would be competing. That's probably why he tried to get up there. Don't see how being a real man has anything to do with a hot dog eating contest.

The whole issue with the Kobayashi deal is that in order for Kobayashi to compete in various Major League Eating events (such as the 4th of July hot dog eating contest) then he would have to sign an exclusivity contract with MLE, thus, not allowing him to compete at all the different contests (where he holds titles) that are not sanctioned by MLE.

Wasn't sure if the King of the Hill episode was an accurate portrayal of the life of a competitive eater.
