Re: Free year of Amazon Prime

Did you guys click the link?

    Q: Will this automatically renew?
    A: NO!

The automatic renewal provisions in the Amazon Prime Terms & Conditions (which would require you to pay for Amazon Prime) do not apply to this membership, even if we decide to extend the free Amazon Prime offer beyond one year.

Well, look at that. Problem solved.

And no, I didn't look at anything outside of what I needed to in order to sign-up.

Even at full price I love Amazon Prime and can never, EVER go back to having a normal Amazon account. So for free -- there's nothing better!

This is awesome... I'm an employee, but my .edu address appears to have worked. I was a student until graduating in December, but I guess it went through anyway. Good stuff!

          Or as Momentous said:

Hah, always coming correct with the .gifs.

Exactly. I am hooked on Prime & get my money's worth even at $80. Free release date shipping for games is an awesome perk if you pre-order.

You can always go to your prime membership and turn off the automatic renewal of Amazon Prime. I've used it since Nov 09 and had no problems with Prime.

Awesome! Is this a limited time offer?

Re: Free year of Amazon Prime

For some reason an error keeps coming up every time I try and sign up something about the signup failed.

edit: nvm the problem was with the opera web browser, for some reason when you use it they don't show the option for what school you attend.

Switched to chrome and everything was fine..

Can I use my existing e-mail address for logging in and then use my .edu account to get Prime for free? If I have to create a new account, then I'll pass.

No need to make a new account...

Q: My .edu address isn't my Amazon.com address -- do I have to create a new account?
                          A: No
If your .edu e-mail address isn't listed on your Amazon.com account, that's OK. The only e-mail we'll send to your .edu e-mail address is the verification e-mail. After that, other Amazon Student e-mails will be sent to the e-mail address listed on your Amazon.com account.
