I pay for most, but she's in the process of getting a job with her degree, she's finishing up her 2nd degree (job market was bad, went back to take the few classes to get the double major) and is just working retail right now...I've got a good job, she's living paycheck to paycheck, so I don't mind covering the few movies or dinners.

That being said, she usually fights me a lot and tries to give me money. If she didn't I 'd be concerned, but I know she's not just abusing me...

Anything more than dinner, movies, etc we'll usually split or she'll cover some stuff she wants to do (concerts or whatever).

We do stuff like, I pay for the movie tickets, she pays for our popcorn and drinks. It don't have to be dead even but just so it's not all on one person.

Me and my girlfriend have been doing 50/50 from the start - and yes, even the dating part (although we sorta just happened, never really had a 'date' per se). There would be times when I would treat her, she would treat me, or I'll pay for the tickets and she gets us food.

It shouldn't be hard to have a conversation about paying for things when you've already been together for a few months.

My girl is always willing to pay. We usually alternate paying for stuff. I'll pay for one meal, she'll get the next. We try to keep it even if possible. She's very realistic and doesn't expect me to always pay for everything.

Well for my last GF I payed for everything and spent way to much money and in return she was a .

Since I've been single and hanging with different girls, I have had those independent work girls that want to show out and pay for stuff, I have had girl that we split on the night as in I pay for dinner than whatever else we do in night she payed for. And then I have had the girls that I payed for everything and I figured out what type of girl that is .

Once you start paying for everything, those girls will do as much as they can to get the money out of you.

I normally ended up with a "take turns" sort of arrangement where one or the other would just offer and end up paying. The other common thing is one of us paying and the other leaving cash for a tip... that tends to work out for the most part, though I was normally the person reaching for the wallet when I saw the check coming and it probably was still me paying 75% of the time or so.

60-40 is a good ratio when dating. But once married that tends to fall more the 90-10 or 100-0 ratio.

But maybe your name rings a bell at why you don't wanna pay.......BUM

Back when me and my wife were 1st dating I payed 100% for everything. I guess I wanted to be the man and when she offered to pay by ego was too big to let her which was stupid. This only lasted for a few months though because I got broke quick lol. We went out all the time and this was back when we were in high school so I just making above minimum wage. I was just honest with her and told her I can't afford to pay for both of us all the time and we both started paying for things.

I think 60-40 is a good ratio.

I pay for my girlfriend 99% of the time and that goes for everything. The only time I let her pay for me is on my birthday and picking me up a round at the bar now and then. Other than that, every time we go out to eat, go to the movies, to a sporting event, or anything else I always pay 100% of the bill. It's just my style I guess. But then again, I make a hell of a lot more money than she does (more than triple her salary) and I work about 10% as hard as she does.

With me and my girlfriend if we are going to a movie and dinner. One of us will pay for dinner and the other will pay for the movies.

We've been together five years... I have a job, and my fiancee is in college. I pay for everything.
