Just got a small raise today. I want to stick with the company since its small and is going to grow, but Im not sure it will grow quick enough for me. I just finished an accounting certificate and could possibly leave and get paid quite a bit more. My best friend just told me his company would hire me and probably pay me more off the start with probably a better chance to get more raises down the road. The hardest part is I like the bank and people I work for now so my loyalty is kicking in. They want to help me advance but I dont think it will be quick enough or pay me enough..... Just needed to vent a bit.

Yeah, I saw a small raise as well at the end of reviews. I'm in almost the same situation (except I'm not an accountant, I'm a programmer). I'm not actively looking for another job, though... and I pretty much have no interest right now.

Sb, that's a tough one. If you're leading an ok lifestyle (for you), stay where you like your job. Unless you're in serious financial trouble, or you know for sure the new place is cool to work

western pa uses the word pop instead of soda . as matter a fact western pa uses a lot of crazy words for others for instance

steak and cheese=cheesesteak
gum band=rubberband
pop=soda
yinz=you guys or ya'll
mum=mom
wersh=wash
jumbo=bolgna

i'm from philly it took a minute to get it together what people were saying. and the steak and cheese thing just rubs me the wrong way in general

What do you guys call freezer's? Or water hose's?

One weird thing people say around here is for before a time. Example:
"I have to be at work tomorrow for 9"

i'm sure there a word somewhere out there . i moved over here because of college and i'm still not used to it. I'm a city boy and all this nature and national geographic stuff that happen out here i will never get used to.

Well I work at a bank now (teller). I would be going to a butcher shop and pretty much running their numbers. I deal with one of the owners daily (the wife) and we get along great. I was the one to actually sent my friend there and he loves it.

The shop hasnt even been open a year but has taken off like crazy. There isnt another butcher shop for about a 100 mile radius. They are at the point of expanding based on the huge demand for them so thats where I would come in. They are already carrying everything from meat, milk, ice cream, hamburger buns, and vegtables so they are about to expand into a small grocery story. People love them and I dont see them having any troubles.
