Re: Off Topic 2010
One of my friends just texted me telling me this guy got jumped on by 6 guys in Walmart on Saturday. Got beat down pretty bad too, blood was everywhere in the Electronics department.
I am so glad I don't live in northwest Indiana anymore. All 5 of those Walmarts up there are ROUGH. That is the main reason why I use to hate working saturday and friday nights there. People would always fight.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2010
Mainly because in northwest Indiana there isn't anything to do up there. They only have 1 mall in the whole county there. No clubs......no nothing, so once the last movie theatre lets out at 10:20pm, people go right across the street and hang out at Walmart because it is a 24 hour walmart.
Back in the day when I worked there you could set your watch to it. Come 10pm you would see about 200 teens and college kids coming up in walmart. With about a good 30 of them going to electronics. The rest stayed in the clothing aisles and toys.
And they would just stay up in there until midnight, not buying anything just messing up stuff.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2010
Holy crap, even if my podunk hometown had a Wal Mart, we would never have hung out in it. We had our own small version of Wal Mart called Pamida. No kids went there to hang out. That's what the gas station parking lot was for, lol.
Wait...COLLEGE kids hang out there too? Now that's sad.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2010
Yeah I don't understand the whole hang out walmart thing either, I grew up in chicago and we would hang out at the 100s of parks Chicago had. Or we use to hang out at Viennas because in the neighborhood I grew up in, they didn't close until 3am.
But came college age, pretty much all my friends had their own apartment so we would have smush parties with cougars from the suburbs.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2010
I had something similar happen to me when I was in the UK. We had taken a train and apparently the rails/types of trains are different there as the sound and such really screwed around with my hearing aids and ears. I had to turn off my hearing aids and chew on gum the whole ride to where we were going. My ears didn't get back to normal for another few hrs
JEEEZ.....Someone could make a ton of money opening a club over there.Mainly because in northwest Indiana there isn't anything to do up there. They only have 1 mall in the whole county there. LMAO! Without fail, this is the reaction I get whenever I mention Pamida and someone else had one in their town.
I've seen four:
Iron River, Michigan
Ashland, Wisconsin
Two Harbors, Minnesota
Bottineau, North DakotaComment

Re: Off Topic 2010
Sad indeed. They were college kids from Ivy Tech, Purdue of Calumet, Northwest Indiana University and Valpo. One thing I learned about people in northwest indiana was they all seem to be scared to leave their state. I mean chicago was only 45 minutes away but yet they all seem terrified to go to Illinois for some reason.Wait...COLLEGE kids hang out there too? Now that's sad.
A city of 5 million people terrified Hoosiers LOL. I swear when I lived there, everytime I suggested Chicago they would say oh no thats too far. But yet they were willing to drive to Indianappolis every weekend which was 2 1/2 hours away. That's why I had very few hoosier friends, I was like F that, I'm going back to chicago where the action is, yall can hang out at Walmart.Comment
