Just curious. I am looking into getting a juicer soon. Any ideas on what I should be looking to spend on it? Any suggestions?

Its been great, and spent a hundred bucks on it which is totally worth it.

A little over $160 for about 10 days worth of groceries. It's too freaking expensive to actually eat well and fairly healthy.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

True, but how much money would you save by not getting sick, buying medication, seeing the doctor, and going through surgery?

Well considering I already HAVE to pay for meds, doctors, and at least 2 surgeries. Of that only1 med is eating related. If I had more money it wouldn't be such a problem, oh welk the veggy stir fry with brown rice will be great tonight.

Yeah tell me about it, my parents were always on a limited budget. Once we tried to be more healthy when shopping until we saw the prices. Went back to the hamburger helper, ramen, etc.

Not when you live in CA.

We only buy on the outside isles at the grocery store, only venturing into the middle isles for staple things like Oil, Salt, Pepper, Syrup Etc..

Produce, Meats/Seafood, Dairy/Cheese/Eggs, Lunch Meats, Liqour in that order really.

We cook all fresh with the occasional frozen pizza thrown in on long work days or movie-night-Friday.

Last night was beer can chicken and linguica, with pilaf (from scratch), fresh sauteed whole green beans with parmesan cheese, and whole wheat loaf garlic bread. Total cost of about 12 dollars for a family of 5.

Plus 1/2 of a left over chicken I'm turning into tacos tonight. Which will be even cheaper because those are just fresh produce, meat, and corn tortillas.

We do cook burgers and hotdogs and things like that, we just add watermelon or grapes instead of chips or fries.

We pay about 145 a week for groceries and that includes my big jug of cheap Rum and a weeks supply of the wifes Cheladas.

This is true, fresh produce was in abundance. Plus making what I was making in CA the cost really didn't matter cause the bank account was always nice and full.

                            I treated myself, to this:

So you guys spend roughly a good 5-600 bucks a month on groceries?

Yeah give or take 50 bucks. This month is kinda low (around 400) because we've been able to stretch out what we have, with the exception of alcohol of course.

Our average daily total spending on food is about $19.00.
