I had a cop out for Valentine's Day. Sold my XBox360 and a few games to a used bookstore. She loves the place so I gave her the gift card as her Valentine's gift haha.

You wanna know how the frugal men roll on V-Day?

First of all, I despise Hallmark Holidays and stand pretty firm in the idea that I should make my wife feel special every day, and if a gesture on Valentines day feels special then I'm not doing my job the other 364 days out of the year.

Anyways, I had a service call for a customer that I was able to take care of right away. The guy decides to give me a $5 tip, which I never get tips, but I appreciated the gesture.

My wife just wanted some choc covered cherries for V-Day and I hate the idea of swiping my debit/credit card for a small purchase (in steps the sudden $5 I just received).

I immediately go to Hy-Vee and drop $2 on these beauties:


I got the wife what she wanted and still came out $3 ahead, which I spent on some chocolates for the good people here at work.

What a nice guy, right?

You could have gotten a box of chocolate cherries for a $1 at Walmart. The Queen Anne brand.
