Re: Post your most recent purchase

Turns out a lot of my winter gear was lost in the flood due to it being in the bottom drawer of my dresser, so the process of replacing that has begun. I have decided that the first thing I need is a "presentable" jacket, and I found this out at the right time because Columbia is running a sale on softshell jackets. These usually go for $115 apiece, I was able to pick them up for $69.99 each.

My girlfriend and I decided to make our three-year kinda-relationship FBO, so now I'd actually get in trouble for not getting her anything for her birthday at the start of the next month, so I decided to get one for her too.

That's sick! I love that green.

My most recent purchase: mushroom coffee. I'm a morning person, gotta have my coffee. I made the switch to this. Heard good things about it on the Tim Ferris podcast. It kicks *** and no jitters, but the taste is meh/bland. Flavor got old after drinking for a week. I don't think I'll purchase again.

I've gone from owning nothing Columbia to half of my winter collection being Columbia thanks to some Amazon gift cards and some obscene sales

Being a Army Vet I had to have this. Dumped my 2TB Slim and picked this up and added a 1TB external. System is beautiful and hardcore at the same time.

That's a purchase I can get behind Slab Good small project compressor (finish nails, blow PC out, fill vehicle tires, etc) they are perfect.

I'll tell you what I did for my "small project" compressor. I grew tired of changing out compressors every 5 years or so due to the insides rusting out. No matter how much you drain it here in south Louisiana, moisture will settle inside the tank and cause rust. So I went with an all aluminum one. Its not contractor friendly in the sense you can man handle it and chuck it in back a truck no worry, BUT for a home owner who takes care of his equipment, it should last forever or at least until something goes wrong with the motor.

Here is my most recent purchase. Graco X5, I need to repaint the entire house. I've sanded all the fascia & soffit down, now its time to get started with the painting!

Not to the level you guys got going (lol) but just got this handy little portable air compressor for traveling and on the go stuff. Works like a charm. Love the screw on connector and the auto off when desired pressure is reached feature is really nice.

Thanks. I've always considered myself a little handy, or destructive, lol. I'm an Automotive turned Aerospace engineer, so I've definitely built a collection of strange and unique 'stuff' over the years.

Yeah, that's exactly what I bought it for, some small woodworking projects and auto restoration detail work.

I definitely hear you on the rotting of compressors (I'm in SE Texas), and took that into consideration. That one will definitely serve you well.

The X5 is nice too! Thankfully, I don't need to do any painting soon. Although, I did consider turning part of my garage into a car painting booth. I found a good local shop for that.

My wife has been saying she wants to lose 20lbs for over a year now and says with her busy schedule that it's hard for her to go walking on a daily basis. She also mentioned that I'm no help lol. Well I surprised her with this a couple weeks ago. Let's just say I scored and I don't mean points lol.

The only complaint is it's in the cave with me.

Lol. I'm going to have to move it at some point. It's blocking the closet doors. I can open the far left door with no problem and it's a walk-in closet with nothing but boxes of my electronics. It just looks weird placed there. But to your point. True!!
