I just finished reading Freakonomics, and I'm planning on borrowing Super Freakonomics from a friend.

Finally got my library card, and found probably the only Paul Auster book I haven't read - Travels in the Scriptorium.

An old man is disoriented in an unknown chamber and has no memory about who he is or how he has arrived there. He tries to understand something from the relics on the desk, examining the circumstances of his confinement and searching for reasons and a method to exit.
Determining that he is locked in, the man — identified only as Mr. Blank — begins reading a manuscript he finds on the desk, the story of another prisoner, set in an alternate world the man doesn't recognize. Nevertheless, the pages seem to have been left for him, along with a haunting set of photographs. As the day passes, various characters call on the man in his cell — vaguely familiar people, some who seem to resent him for crimes he can't remember — and each brings frustrating hints of his identity and his past. All the while an overhead camera clicks and clicks, recording his movements, and a microphone records every sound in the room. Someone is watching.

License to Deal by Jerry Crasnick (an awesome look into the world of agents, from a unique perspective)

Heart of the Game by S.L. Price (story about the coach who was struck by a foul ball and killed in, I believe, 2007. Read this a couple months ago - really a great book)

          Thought I'd bump this up.

Haven't gotten around to reading it but I picked up True Genius: The Life And Science Of John Bardeen yesterday. He helped invent the transistor and is the only person to win two Nobel Prizes in physics.

Mercernaries by Jack Ludlow. It's historical fiction based on William the Conqueror's early life and is the first of a trilogy which leads up to his invasion of England in 1066.

Also Midnight Falcon by David Gemmell. Gemmell's novels are easy to read heroic fantasy which really draws the reader in. Fun stuff with lots of great action.

Beyond Belief is the third book I'm working on now. It's the story of Josh Hamilton and his battle with drugs.

I'm in the midst of Tolkien fever (something that occurs every two or three years) and am halfway through The Silmarillion, then it's on to The Children of Hurin, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings.

I just finished reading the first novel in a trilogy about Attila the Hun. Good stuff. Now I'm reading the second in a trilogy about William the Conqueror. I love historical fiction.

Working on 1776. It's very readable for historical non-fiction.

Dead seriously, I'm reading the 7th Harry Potter book. I only read it once back when it came out, and I like to give the books a rereading before I end up seeing the movie that goes with it. Don't really know why. I think I just like reading through and then getting angry because something wasn't in the movie.
