In my opinion, one of the greatest books ever written. Did you get the uncut edition?

Yep. It's the first King I have ever read and really first real novel I have ever read. He really likes his character development. I just wish the movies they made did the books justice.

If that's the first, it can't be the last. Do yourself a favor and read The Shining (thousand times better than the movie) and IT. I could go on and on but those are three of the four on my "Mt. rushmore of King novels".

The Shining is my favorite novel of all time.

My girlfriend is reading The Shining right now. I've never seen the movie so for the most part I wouldn't know what happens.

It's my favorite novel and one of my most overrated movies.

                  Ten thousand......maybe one hundred thousand......million?!

The Shining novel is so much better than the film....pretty much any of his books vs. films.

                  Salem's Lot?...

                  Thinner.....

Stand by Me might be the best film adaptation of any King work.(for those that don't read King....Stand by Me was a novella....not a full novel based of his story.."The Body".....or maybe Shawshank.....

I'm going to see how far I can get with this list: http://www.reddit.com/r/raerth/comme...vourite_books/. I bought a Kindle and will probably just read off of that.

I started reading Game of Thrones again so I could read the first 3 books before playing TellTale's game. I'm hoping after that I will start Lord of the Rings and power through that during tax season.

The Game of Thrones was one of the first books I bought on my Kindle. It's the second time I've tried getting into it, and I just can't. I guess it'll just have to be on hold for now.

What are your guys' thoughts on eBook readers vs. actual book readers? I know it doesn't necessarily make a huge difference in the long run as, in the end, you're just reading the contents of the book regardless of how you read it. But I think I'd rather read the actual books. In the long run, I'd rather have a library of books that I can look at... Something like a mountain you've climbed over lol. And you can actually share your books. I don't think you could easily share an eBook that you bought on your Kindle to anyone else.

I'm team actual books....but I'm close to caving and getting an eReader just for convenience sake.

But I want a library of books in my house in the future, so, I doubt I'll cave.

I tried the eReaders for a bit. Never got the nookKindle or whatever it's called, just used my tablet with Kindle app installed and wasn't that into it. I hated how at times it would save me on a page I never read, etc.

I'm more into holding a book physically, the feel of the pages, and like above poster, I like I have my books on shelves in house and stuff. Makes me look smarter than I am.

I've always been a physical media guy. I like having a collection of favorite movies, a library of records, and a library of books. Like you, I also aspire to have a library in my future home.

Something about holding a book, particularly soft-cover books, and getting comfortable with them in the chair, bending back the covers, wearing them out and breaking their spine is almost as important as the actual words on the page to me.
