At least he worked for a mainline airline unlike half the airline workforce nowadays. It's amazing how much the industry has been outsourced to lower-paying companies like PSA, Air Wisconsin, ect. When you fly, for example, US Airways Express, you are not flying US Airways at all. You are flying on an outsourced regional jet or turboprop which is owned by a company like PSA, Air Wisconsin, Piedmont, ect. and these workers get payed much less than mainline employees (who fly for US Airways, JetBlue, United, Delta, ect.).

I think being a first-class international flight attendant is a good job. When I flew to Europe, they provided great service and seemed quite happy with their jobs (and they were pretty much all older males).

Yeah working a regional line has terrible pay for flight attendants and especially pilots. Pilots and flight attendates just starting out are making less then full time fast food empoyees in the regional industry.

When I heard how little those pilots made, I was stunned. For someone who has absolute control over my life to be making about $12 an hour, it is a little unsettling.

Yeah a lot of information came out about the pay of pilots after the Colgan plane crash in Buffalo. It is unbelievable to me that I made more money working at Kroger when I was in high school in a year then the co-pilot did. For someone with so much responsiblity the pay is shocking.

That's what got me out of wanting to become a pilot. Plus these captains aren't retiring as early so it's really really hard to move up.

I don't think the flight attendant reacted in the best manner, but I gotta feel for them having to deal with people who don't follow the rules. If they ask you to do something, you should listen...

I've been on flights with "that guy" before and I wanted to hurt him so bad...Some people just think paying for the flight means they can do whatever they want.
