Re: Best way to get rid of a wart

I'm also having this problem. I bought the Dr Scholl's freeze away and acid in one package for $20.00. I've done two freezings and keep putting on the acid once every few days (no real routine since I keep forgetting to do it twice a day like the directions say). Once the skin looks dead, I pick it off and then make sure to put on the acid twice a day for the next day. It's been 2 weeks, and it's almost gone now, should just take another week of treatment.

I had one 8 years ago also. The first thing I bought was just the salicylic acid, but that wasn't doing the job as it made the wart smaller, but wasn't getting rid of it fully. Then I bought the freeze away, as I had already tried the acid for 3 weeks. The freeze away seemed to do the trick, I think it was aided by the acid since most of the wart was dead from it already. That's why this time, I just wanted to be safe and bought both at once so I wouldn't be wasting time going back to the store.

I had two a long time ago, I think they were on my fingers. I kinda picked at them for a long time and they would keep coming back so I cut them off and got out all of those little black dot things inside of them with nail clippers. They never came back so I guess it's a solid method.

I did the same thing on the back of my leg Kenyon...it did leave a small hole and bled like you wouldn't believe but it worked. I'd think long and hard about using this method though because they say you can literally bleed to death depending upon where the wart is.

Then again, they basically drilled a hole in my foot to get the things out, so that could be why.

Same thing here. Plantar wart in my right foot. Nitrogen and scalple to cut it out. Had to walk with a cane for two weeks, took eight weeks to fully heal. Ouch. What's funny is that I've never had a wart since.

Re: Best way to get rid of a wart

I recently defeated the second head that was growing out of my thumb. I tried the bandaids, but it was in a weird place and the bandaids would never stay.

I got the OTC freeze thing and did the following...

1.I rubbed the entire area down with an ice cube to numb it a little.
2.I froze it once, pushing the q-tip ting down hard, and turning it over after I stopped hearing the sizzling noise. I even used the point on the Q-tip.
3.Did that 3 times in one sitting (went against the directions on box and wishes of my chick).

The next day a blister formed around the wart. I left it alone for 2 days, then popped the blister and tore the entire wart off in one piece.

-Oh yea, I had wore one of those wart remover bandaids on it the day before so it would "open up". Good luck.

I also had a plantar's wart on the bottom of my foot. For that, I applied a layer of liquid compound W on it every day for almost an entire month. after I had formed the small mountain of dry compound W on the bottom of my foot, i peeled off the entire thing revealing air-starved meaty-white flesh, minus the wart.

Re: Best way to get rid of a wart

I had a couple more warts. One of them got a decent siz. I got one of the freezing things and some of the wal mart brand of the acid stuff.

Freezing thing didn't work and was a waste of $15. I really didn't want to do 3 treatments all at one.

The acid stuff though was amazing. Applying twice a day it took about a 5 days for the top layer of my skin to die. I peeled that off and all that was left was a tiny brown dot. Apparently 90% of the wart if just dead skin that builds up. One of them was probably a half cm wide and not appealing at all. The stuff is annoying though. If you leave the cap off the liquid will turn into a gel and become useless and impossible to put on.

I have one on my middle finger. I have cut it off with scissors or a knife multiple times, burnt it, froze it with over the counter stuff, put duct tape on it, and nothing has worked. It's been there for over a year now lol. I just cannot get of it, it always grows back

I went to a dermatologist recently about this. He froze it using some machine and then applied "beetle juice" to promote blistering quicker. It was very uncomfortable for a few days until it blistered. Once the blister popped, wart was all gone and much relief. I had tried all the over the counter stuff but it never worked. I highly recommend seeing a specialist.

The only way I ever got rid of warts is to have the Dr. freeze em off. used to gnaw on them as a kid but that would never work.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

That's because you didn't gnaw deep enough to get the root!

I had a planters wart once in high school.. used a pair of toenail clippers and dug that sucker our myself, lol. Left a hell of a hole until it healed up.

As far as those little tiny random ones that basically everyone gets on their fingers once in a while... I do the same thing with them.

I tried everything over the counter and never worked. I had to visit my dermatologist 3 times to get this one off my leg. They just end up cutting it off and they took this really hot metal device and burned the root I'm guessing. It took 3 times but now its off.

I had one years ago and this was exactly what they did for me. Worst thing was, the wart was on the sole of my feet. It was so painful to try to take a step with that foot with the blister. Eventually though, it just popped. I went back to the dermatologist and they proceeded to scrape off all the dead skin.

I tried all the over the counter meds, home remedies, and whatever else I could try and it did not do a damn thing to the wart.

I had a crazy one on the bottom of my foot, it was so nasty. I was young, I don't even remember what happened to it. I know I picked at it, I think I got the seed or something and it disappeared.

I had one on my thumb that the doctor numbed, then straight up cut off. Put something on it that made it turn like, black. Just had to peel off the scab a few days later.

Recently, I had one on my finger... then just as I realized it was getting bigger, it just went away, no treatment or anything. Strange times...
