Re: Chrysler Auto Workers Busted
I feel bad that these people most likely will be out of jobs. They definitely should take responsibility for what they did. I'm torn between this. I'm glad I'm not a heartless suit that had to sit through the video and make the decision....... -

Re: Chrysler Auto Workers Busted
Well in Detroit there are more than enough people desperately looking for work who could replace them, so no real reason to feel bad for them as they made their own bed.Comment

Re: Chrysler Auto Workers Busted
The only thing I find funny is that you'll see this...but you won't see or hear the outrage with the countless...judges...lawyers....bankers....doctors !....in their nice business suits, having "three martini" lunches....doing lines in the bathroom everyday somewhere.
Instead...guys would be lining up to give those guys a second chance and "help".
Just a thought.

1. I doubt there are many judges or doctors drinking on the job. Both would lose their jobs and licenses quickly and be virtually unemployable afterward. The only thing I find funny is that you'll see this...but you won't see or hear the outrage with the countless...judges...lawyers....bankers....doctors !....in their nice business suits, having "three martini" lunches....doing lines in the bathroom everyday somewhere.

2. Anyone who has paid federal taxes is essentially paying the salaries of these clowns. The same is true of bankers and frankly if you haven't seen the outrage towards them then you haven't left your house or accessed the internet since September 2008. The last presidential election was almost entirely centered around hatred for "Wall Street."Comment

1. Do you now?....really? I guess you've never been a waiter or busboy in lower Manhattan near the court houses and Fed buildings.(or the equivalent in your area)1. I doubt there are many judges or doctors drinking on the job. Both would lose their jobs and licenses quickly and be virtually unemployable afterward.

Lunch time= cup time....but of course as usual, you know better than everyone else.
2. Didn't Chrysler declare bankruptcy(thereby eliminating it's obligations to the Fed...which was nonsense anyway since we just print that monies(a different argument) and enter a deal with Fiat?....so I don't think we are still playing "these clowns" salaries.
But that's not my point....
I don't drink....I don't believe in drinking on the job....but I just think pointing the finger at these guys, while looking the other way for others is hypocritical.

Re: Chrysler Auto Workers Busted
I don't live on Madison Avenue during the 1960s.
I've never been in a work environment where people drink during lunch (or earlier) and go back to work. Doctors almost certainly don't do this and keep their job. They'd be unable to acquire insurance.
I believe the US government financed the deal with Fiat.2. Re: Chrysler Auto Workers Busted
While not excusing the behavior of the workers in the video this is a great point. If you follow around any group of professionals you'll see some scary stuff at lunch time. From my experience, judges are the worst...which is very ironic. Teachers, yes teachers, aren't far behind. The only thing I find funny is that you'll see this...but you won't see or hear the outrage with the countless...judges...lawyers....bankers....doctors !....in their nice business suits, having "three martini" lunches....doing lines in the bathroom everyday somewhere.
