Stung in the throat by a bee.....

Yesterday me and some buddies were golfing before the MSU/Michigan game. Had all the makings of a great day. I cracked my first beer just after turn had just sunk a 25 foot putt to save a par things were looking good. Get up to the next tee, I take a swill....WTF there is something chunky in my mouth.

I spit it out into my hand and its a yellow jacket. Then the pain started. I was freaking out a little bit because I can't remember being stung before so I didn't know I was allegic. Luckliy I wasn't, but if felt immediately like I had strep throat. I finished out the round and looked in the mirror and I could see that the bastard stung me right on that thing that hangs down and everything was swollen. If I would have been allergic, it would have been curtains for sure.

I went to the pharmacy, and they said wasn't much they could do except Ibuprofen and Benedryl. I asked if I could drink beer with that and he said I could. Around midnight, the pain went away like a switch. The only positive was that I basically had a free pass from my wife to drink as much as I wanted to kill the pain.

Anyway, check your beers fellas, wouldn't want anyone to go through that.

Wow you are lucky, back in the 70's we had a friend of the family die when he was stung on the inside of the throat after he swallowed a bee in his beer.

I got stung on the inside of my lip once when taking a sip of my beer and didnt see the bee on it. Hurts like a bitch. Just be glad you werent allergic or anything, could have been worse.

It's not just beer, bees are attracted to cans of soda too. That is why I don't ever leave anything uncovered outside. Because if a bee or yellow jacket don't get in it, a fly surely would.

Yeah, that's how I got stung by a bee for the first time. Actually, it wasn't in the can of caffeine free pepsi but landed on my lip just after I took a sip then stung me when I went to swat it away.
