    Inversion Table

I was in Nashville for a wedding this weekend and just so happened to come by a place that had an inversion table for display. I've been having uncomfortable back pain for a bit lately. I think it has some to do with the bed I sleep in as well as the jobs ivebeen involved with the past few years. Well, I tried it and was significantly impressed by the results.

The biggest problem is that the inversion table was on the higher end of the spectrum. I'm still trying do more research about the product I will eventually purchase. There is a bunch of different ones on the market and I want to get the one that caters for what I need without breaking the bank.

Wanted to know if anyone has any type of experience with inversion tables and could recommend a solid one for me. The one that was out of my range is being sold "exclusively" by the company Relax The Back which was about $799. I loved it because it eased me into a comfortable position. I'm definitely wondering if I should just save up and go for it eventually or wait.

We had them when I worked at Dicks a few years ago. They weren't that expensive, I don't think. I didn't like it though because it did something with the pressure in my nose and I instantly got clogged up and couldn't breath... lol

      Re: Inversion Table

I heard that a lot of people get headaches, dizziness, or other things like it from the thing. The lady was telling me that I have to do it gradually in order to keep from injuring myself. The one she had within the place had more of a sliding table thing where it would ease the body into the position. It only went 15 degrees and 30 degrees. I loved the way that one worked. I just don't want to get a cheaper one and regret that I bought it. I do think that it helps a lot because I'm still feeling good. I just got home from driving in a car for 10+ hours and I'm feeling great. I know that when I did the driving down, I was more or less miserable. I bought a back book also to read up on stretches and core strengthening. Definitely going to work on being better with my body. I feel myself getting a little too "old" too fast.

my gym has one and I use it often now. My back at 31 feels like I'm 81 sometimes due to injuries and such. I am trying to get back in shape (I've hit 270) trying to get back down to 230 and workouts are killing me the back needs to be healthy.

I used to have lower back pain due to previous sports injuries and such.

I started going to the chiro on the regular - once every month to six weeks - and he also helped me to help myself. Apparantly I was hurting my body alot with small repetitious things (how I sat, wallet in my back pocket, how I sat up, etc), my posture when sitting and standing, the exercises I was doing in the gym (no more squats, deadlifts, etc) and introduced me to quick, 3 minute total exercises that I do every morning and night that helps for longevity. On top of that, I stopped sleeping on my sides, bought an ergonomic bed, and bought a 1 in. memory foam pad for my bad.

6 months later and I have not had one bit of lower back pain since the first day. Small things here and there made a HUGE difference and all it took was me simply making small changes in my lifestyle much like one would do with dieting to lose weight.

Hope this bit of info helped in some way.

i had one for a while at one time. i was very excited about it, but after having it, it wasn't what i remembered.

when we were kids my friends dad had one. the first time i got on it, every bone in my back lit up and cracked. i could feel my spine separate, and it was just awesome!

i bought one when i was older just to experience that again. never happened the same way. eventually it was just taking up space, so i sold it.

if i had a serious back pain problem, i'd probably consider one again, but for just occasional stretching, probably no good.
