No one is saying the actual plane crash is humorous. No one thinks 18* people dying is funny.

It's the cause of the plane crash that is humorous. A mother****ing crocodile on a mother****ing plane.

As people have said - we're all going to die. You're damn right I'd rather go out knowing my plan crashed because there was a freaking croc on it instead of multiple engine failure or something like that.

Plus, the fact that the crocodile caused it...somehow survived it...and then got chopped up with a machete is ironically funny.

So crocodile causing plane crash funnier than plane crashing due to engine malfunction. Got it.

I'm sure the families will be less saddened to know that a crocodile on the plane caused the crash and not mechanical failure or worse.

I think you're over-thinking this.

No one is saying it's not a sad thing that 18* people died, no one is saying that the fact that the plane crashed is a tragedy, and no one is saying that the families of the people aren't going to be sad.

Pretty much anyone that sound the situation ironic, or "comical," also stated that it was sad and a tragedy that they died.

I'm not on either side of the fence here... I haven't laughed, but I haven't cried either. I don't know who the victims are. I'm just trying to find the line here. If this was on Family Guy and they draw out a scene of a crocodile breaking out and everyone going onto one side of the plane causing it to tip over, I would be cracking up. But that's fiction anyway, I'm just making a point.

I'm not sure, but when someone dies, I have a hard time looking for the humor in the story.

I don't know who the victims are either, I don't know most of the people who pass away, but I have enough respect to not make light of any situation in which someone loses their life.

And you're right, Family Guy is fiction...not real life.

But had you known the person, or if this thread started out saying that a person knew someone who died in this crash where a crocodile was on the plane, would it still be humorous? I would surely hope not.

It would still be funny if I knew someone on the plane. I would hope that if I was on the plane you would still all fine it funny. Life it way to short to take things so seriously, this just proves it. Yes it sucks that people were killed, yes it is sad that lives were lost. But in the end, every life ends.

Good call. If the OP was something like "my uncle died in a plane crash caused by a croc" then all of the responses here would be sympathetic.

The only comical part to me was that the plane crashed because all of the people ran to one end and it tipped the plane. The fact that they died as a result pretty much erases the humor.

The real question is, how would you rather die:

1. Be eaten by a crocodile

2. Die in a plane crash

Not often do people have to make this decision

BTW, My grandpa died in a Humorous way and I could laugh about it later in life. He died pooping in a grocery store bathroom, probably pushed too hard and had a heart attack.

What is so bad about finding something humorous? Most anyone I know would want me to go out and find the humor in something, or find a reason to make people laugh. No one is saying it is a good thing, or that it isnt sad by laughing. All they are doing is saying "wow, that is really ****ed up, so ****ed up that is a kinda funny". Nothing wrong with finding something humorous. I just don't know whats humorous about a story that involves people dying.
