    Need Car Suggestions

I'm looking to buy a new car within the next month, because my current ride is on its way out and after going through the whole "this car could die at any moment" thing with my previous car, I'm saying '**** it' this time and going to take the proactive approach.

Basically, I'm looking for an affordable 08 or 09 model car that isn't terrible on gas, has decent acceleration and offers a smooth ride. For a starter/basis, something like a Camry or Accord or something is around the size, so anything along those lines, or an Altima/Maxima or something.

I know we have some car people on OS, so figured I'd throw the question out there and see what kind of suggestions I get.

Honestly from what you suggested you won't go wrong with a Maxima, Altima, or an Accord. I would say a Civic also but me personally don't like the look of the newer ones very much. Those Maximas an Altimas have realll nice interiors too an just an all around good ride imo.

      Nissans are gas guzzlers.......

Me personally, for a sedan I like the Sonota. It is very roomy and has one of the hugest trunk I ever seen in a sedan. Can't go wrong with an Accord either.

But everybody I known to have ownded a Altima or Maxima, their cars never lasted more then 3 or 4 years without having to some type of major expensive repair on them.

Whatever you do, think long term. Get something big enough that if you so happened to have a baby, you can fit a car seat in the car. Don't be like some of my friends and coworkers who went out and bought 2 door sports cars. Then when they got a baby ended up having to buy another car in order to fit a car seat in the car comfortabley.

Look for an Acura TL Type-S. Those things are fully loaded and sweet looking rides. I have an 05 TL and couldn't be happier with it.

          What do you consider "affordable"?

Camrys are pretty good cars. I have a 05 Toyota Camry that I have had for like 2 years. Great on gas and they last forever if you take care of them.

Yeah, my family has had three Camrys and all have been good and reliable, it's why I'm leaning towards one of them if I go with a recent/used car.

Truthfully, my best friend just bought a Nissan so I almost don't want to get one of those, ha.

A Honda Accord would be a good idea, just don't get it at Lundgren Honda.

I've never been a fan of Hyundai, but the new Sonata is a pretty good looking car. It's cheaper than both the Camry and the Accord, has a better warranty and is a few thousand cheaper and rates right up there with them, if not higher.

My current car is actually a '01 Sonata that my grandmother left for me when she died. It's on its way out right now, engine is dying, transmission is dying, blah blah, hence the post....but yeah, I've thought about a new Sonata. They're supposed to be pretty good and I could probably buy a new one for an affordable price.

Altima would be a good option.

I'm planning on getting a new/used car with my income tax this year. So I'm subscribing to this thread lol.

I am probably the most indecisive person that I know, so I need as much help as possible.

I've had my 2001 Jeep TJ for 4 years now.

                              I don't recommend owning one.
