Where are all the marathons?

Back in the "olden days" we used to get Honeymooners, Odd Couple and Twilight Zone marathons on T.V. What happened to them? I kinda miss them

They've been replaced with the 24 hour marathon of the movie "A Christmas Story".

The Twilight Zone marathon is on New Years Eve (not Christmas) on SyFy.

I am a huge fan of that show and own them all on DVD so I refuse to watch the butchered, syndicated versions on broadcast television, but go ahead and knock yourselves out.

Well I know they are having a Green Acres Marathon on CTM next weekend. But I do miss old TV shows. It hurt not to see good classic tv on hardly anymore unless you get it on DVD.

The Twilight Zone marathon is on New Years Eve (not Christmas) on SyFy.

I've never seen them any other way than on TV...how are they butchered compared to the DVD version?

They cut around 2:30-3:00 out of each episode in order to make room for commercials. Plus, the prints are downright horrible. At least the Viacom ones are.

Well in case anyone wants to know the Honeymooners and Twilight Zone marathons have been running since yesterday. Ahhh the memories. Well some of them as I've been mostly watching football and what not.

I miss that. I'd spend the next morning watching Honeymooners' episodes until the football games started. One of my favorite all time shows. I remember catching a Yankee game on Channel 11, then after the news, it would be the Odd Couple then the Honeymooners. (Or was it the other way around?)

One of the channels over here did a News Years Western movie marathon. Another channel did a fortnight of various sci-fi stuff like the Star Wars movies, all the Star Trek movies and Doctor Who stuff.

I think Mythbusters was the only show on Discovery Channel today. They showed it literally from morning through tonight.

And USA frequently puts on House marathons.
