Anyone know anything about Macs? I posted in the Mac thread but haven't gotten a response yet. I'm in paranoia about my Mac having a virus, even though most Mac apologists say you they don't exist.

The website launched some "virus scan", aka downloading malware onto my computer I'm assuming. Do I have a right to be concerned or am I worrying about nothing?

Did the website launch your virus scan or a BS browser screen telling you it was running a scan? It may have been a bogus screen to get you to click it. But yeah its unlikely that you got one. Run some scans of your own to see.

So I just spoke with my advisor and he said I cleared my Biology and Arts&Sciences liberal arts core already, leaving me with two semesters of absolutely no guidance and reckless abandon to take any courses I want...maybe I'll cram a chem or biochem major into one year (totally not happening). Is senioritis suppose to kick in this soon?

Well I clicked on the image in Google Images, it took me to the website which shrunk the browser window, almost closing it. When I resized it, it said there was an infection in my computer and it was running a virus scan. I then closed the browser, which then popped up a "Are you sure you want to leave this page?" message.

I don't have any anitvirus software on the Mac. If anyone knows any free ones that work well, that would be cool.

I don't think it did anything, as it seems to be running fine. But you never know in this day and age.

Yeah I know exactly what you saw and as long as you didn't click the page prompting a download of anything you should be fine. There is free AVG online. It may not be McAfree of Norton, but it should at least warn you of actual threats. I'll tell you its gonna be hard for you to get a legit virus on your mac but DO NOT get a false sense of security from it. Protect yourself. Sounds like its a fairly new model from the sound of your post. It's a badass mofo isnt it? lol

Ick... You can always take the Matt Leinart route, Ball Room Dancing and other comparable classes.

Oops, I don't know if AVG is mac compatible. Ive been rocking the PC since my mac went down for repairs (graphic card bs). Yeah I wouldn't worry about it much more. Maybe the Mac guys in the forum can help you with a free anti-virus. My university gave me one for free.

LOL my advisor said I should stock up on instrument courses and become a genius musician in one year...I think he's losing his mind. May actually take formal guitar lessons through the school since I have nothing better to do.

Potential LOL classes: Weightlifting, Cycling, Scuba Diving, Piano (noob edition), Science 101 (real name...), Ballroom Dancing (3 hour class at night? ha!), and some animations courses (real art kids are weirdos). I may get into some Newhouse courses for absolutely no reason other than Shaq has an honorary degree from there lol. Hes an absolute monster in person...
