I actually have a bit of work ethic today, and I have an interview (which I've discussed).

              So in your face.

Also, we we we so excited.

My gripe with Best Buy is they ask you how you're doing when you first walk in...I want to look and then ask questions if I have them. Sometimes I have to walk all over to find someone not busy or literally sprinting to somewhere else.

I like stores that offer a balance between leaving me alone, offering help, and making me NOT feel like I'm a pain because I want to purchase something.
It depends on the manager. Some are really good. But the pressure really comes from above them. I actually like TRUST. It's good when you use it right. I guess for some people there isn't a sales model that's good for them. But believe me, customers are way happier with TRUST than CARE Plus. I don't have to shove product in their face at all.

I like "Greet, Qualify, Recommend , Close." Easy and focused. The other parts of that are be cheerful and enthusiastic, nobody buys from a bored rep. And if you really have to be reminded to thank your customers, you should've never been hired after an interview.

Greet- "That's an awesome printer you're looking at, I love wireless printers, it's so much easier to set up, and no cords to trip on."
Qualify- "Do you want (NOT need, people NEED to pay their power bill, they WANT a ps3) a new printer?"
Recommend- You recommend based on qualifications
                Close- Sell the thing

Much more effective than starting with a cliche'd "can I help you find anything?" I say no to that out of reflex. Plus instead of asking a question, you've engaged a conversation... social norms would be they that say something back. Even if it's "I'm just curious" the response is "sounds to me like you're thinking about one- is there something wrong with the printer you have now"... and qualifying begins
I like yours too. But really, just depends on the customer. TRUST is fine for some and I can really get some good sales out of it. But I can see why yours would work for a certain customer too. And believe me, I always try to avoid that question, but customers still respond the same way even if I didn't ask it. Sales is a tricky area. Some people respond one way, some the other. Personally, I don't respond to a product oriented question. But if someone were just to have a conversation with me, I'd be more apt to actually engage in a conversation with them then to tell them I don't need help.

There is no part of Best Buy that's on commission. They dropped all commission sales in like 1994. We own Future Shop in Canada and they are commission, but they are the only thing that's associated with Best Buy that is.

I've had jobs before where you couldn't have facial hair. If that was the case then I would certainly shave. If that wasn't the case then as long as it's neat, you should be fine.

I got an advertisement from Bank of America today. They want me to get a Baltimore Orioles MasterCard with Extra Base rewards. Now why would they send an advertisement like that to someone in Pittsburgh? I'm perfectly happy with PNC Bank and my PNC Park bank card.

My black lab used to poop rainbows. Seriously, we'd see all different color bits of plastic and rubber in his poop from the various toys and other stuff he chewed up and ate. Amazingly, he really never got sick aside from occasional upset stomach from all that.
