      Re: Off Topic 2011

So, I've been preparing for my interview, writing some **** down I feel will be helpful:

      Strengths/Weaknesses
5 Year and 10 year plans
All relevant course-work and project experience

Any of you guys know how common behavioral questions (ie: tell me about a time...) are?

      Questions for the interviewer:
What happened to the person who held this position previously?
What major strengths and weaknesses did they posses?
How would you describe the typical week for this position?
On your website, it says that accounting services can be done for the client both on and off-site; typically, how much is done on-site versus off-site?
How would you describe the environment here?
What opportunities for advancement are available within the firm? (I know the firm is relatively small, is this question still good/suitable? Would it be better to ask about the firm's structure?)
What were some of the reasons why you decided to work here?
What do you see in the firm's future in the next five years?
When can I expect to hear from you?
Are there any other questions I can answer for you?

Only if interviewer brings it up will I ask about benefits, prior commitments to vacation, and budgeted compensation for the position.

All you have to do is this:

        1. Hop up out the bed
        2. Turn your swag on
        3. Take a look in the mirror
        4. Then say what's up
        5. Tell the person interviewing you, you're trying to get money oh.

You're definitely on the right track FT, especially with the questions to ask the interviewer. Some of those I might have to take into some of my future interviews lol. As for behavioral questions, in my limited experience those are more for managerial or customer facing positions, such as asking when you've dealt with difficult customers or how to handle problems in a group project setting. For an accounting position I would think that your technical skills and ability to use certain computer programs will trump behavioral questions. Although I would prepare for them, just not as much as other questions like previous relevant coursework or technical accounting skills. Hope that helps.

This would actually explain a lot for me cause I used to love all Disney movies as a little kid and that included the Little Mermaid and I find redheads extremely attractive

I couldn't even think of my top Disney movies, but Hercules is #1. I'll still watch that to this day. I like Mulan a lot too.

So sometime this week I should be meeting up with my ex from HS.

This is a good idea right?
