So, last night my sister's boyfriend (she's 24, he's 23) comes downstairs and asks me: "So, how would you feel if I was your brother-in-law?"
Now, they've been dating for 4 and a half years, I've known it's been coming for awhile, all of that. There are two issues:
1) His father told him he couldn't move out until they were married. Now, his father is psycho, they've already lived together for almost a year up in Rochester, and all of that. So I told him "If you're going to ask, I want you to talk to me before so I can make sure you're doing it for the right reason." Mainly because she will say 'no' if she thinks he's only doing it to be able to move out, and I don't want that happening because I like him and would be perfectly fine with him as a brother-in-law.
2) Literally just last week, my sister told me exactly what she wanted in an engagement ring, just in case since he had made a joke about it. I forget what she said.
