Re: Off Topic 2011
So, the impossible has happened.
I (probably, I go to see him tomorrow) got a job. The kicker? It's working baseball tournaments, umpiring and scorekeeping.
It gets even better. My boss (Husker or Jeremy may know him) is Ronnie Rantz, a baseball announcer for CST. He's pretty well known around here, so that cant hurt given my major and what I want to be.
I, for one, think I hit the jackpot.
The good ol' days of baseball umpiring. Good times. My second to last game I umpired involved a pretty good 5 minutes of a coach arguing with me about a ruling he disagreed with. We got pretty vehement out there. Though I did get a ton of cheers from the crowd. I think the guy was just pissed that his undefeated, juggernaut of a team was being matched on the field that day up to that point.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

No way we'd get away with talking about the scores of the Professional Indoor Inline Hockey Association up here like we did down there.
Nice! Hopefully that does help you with the Broadcasting career. Hope it works out for you.

I preferred being the base ump most of the time. And your job will obviously be better than mine. The better the teams, the easier it is to enjoy the job.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

And since we're complaining about the quality of the OT,

And score. These aren't like Y league games where I'll be bored out of my mind, these kids can ball for their age (11-14).
