            It's interesting how some words have slipped away from everyday usage or have changed meaning:

            An example of the former is the word "niggardly". It's basically the same meaning as "stingy". I read a story a few years ago about someone who said her co-worker was being niggardly and they got fired as the boss thought she was being racist.

            An example of the latter is "pixelated" We all know the meaning nowadays but back in the '30s and '40s it meant that someone was confused, bewildered or insane.
