The Royals depress me. I won free tickets today from the Royals' stadium emcee. Seats were PERFECT. It was super hot today, but my seats were in the shade about 20 rows up from the first base dugout. But it just sucked. Nothing is going their way at all. All I want is for a little change. I'm 18 and the Royals have no made the playoffs in my lifetime. Not counting the strike season in 1994, they have finished above .500 TWICE! ****ing twice. So when the season actually started well, of course I got a little excited. It's always about the future, but for ****s sake I'm sick of saying, "Maybe next year."

Sorry for my rant. I've tried to stay optimistic and not talk **** on my team, but I can't really take it any more.

It's a shame too because KC has some of the most knowledgeable and loyal fans in the game yet year after year they're mired in mediocrity or worse. That Glass guy is said to be pretty rich so how come they can't keep their young up and comers? If only they had an owner with big pockets AND George Brett's commitment.

Our owner is the biggest issue. He has a ton of money. He's big time in the Walmart corporation. But he only owns the Royals because of the money he's making, not because he loves the game. David Glass rarely even comes to games here. The only reason the K received any upgrades were because of the taxes that were passed and the tax breaks they got in return. I would kill for a guy like George Brett to own the team. Or even someone like the Kauffmans. They loved baseball. Sure, they were rich, they owned a really successful pharmaceutical company here in KC that still exists, but they loved the team. I would even love for the Hunt family, the Chiefs' owners, to buy the team. They may not LOVE baseball, but they love Kansas City. And they would commit money because they know that's what this team really needs.

And I know, I know, I could have it worse, but baseball is the sport that I love and it just sucks to see this team **** itself year in and year out.

I held out for as long as I could. I was really having fun even when they were losing. But today kind of pushed me over the edge. I cannot stand Yost's lineup and bullpen management. Hey! Here's an idea! Let's throw O'Sullivan out there again! He won't give up a six run inning three games in a row right?! Or hey, let's put Soria in again in a one run situation. I mean, he has to break out eventually, right? Give me a ****ing break.

The closest I've come was in 2003, when we started the season 9-0 and were like 83-77 or something and finished third in our division. BUT were were first in the division til August. Woo.

Try being a Leafs fan, not only have they not won since '67 but the fanbase is one of the most delusional in all of sports.
