What I hate about shopping before a snow storm is all the people who act like they've never dealt with a little snow before and race to the grocery store in a panic to stock up on stuff as if they're gonna be snowed in for days. This happenes even when only a couple inches is predicted and in places where people should be more than used to significant snowfalls in the winter month. I don't know what it is about winter weather that turns people into complete lunatics.

I was ashamed to be part of this about 5 years ago when we were supposed to get an ice storm that could have knocked power out. I had just moved by myself after living with roommates and realized I didn't have any kind of alternate lighting. So I go to Target and it's a damn madhouse. You would have thought people's hair was on fire. I couldn't believe it...this was in MINNESOTA! I found the first battery-powered lantern I could find and got the hell out of there as people were stocking up on like a month's worth of toilet paper. Humans are funny.

Rather be prepared then unprepared that is what I always say. I remember 12 or 13 years ago when I first had a house and a snow storm had came dumped 15 inches of snow and knocked the power out for a 50 mile radius.

Power was out for 4 days. Stores remained closed, whole towns was shut down and all I had in the house was 2 boxes of cereal with no milk because I didn't go to the grocery store and thought the storm would be nothing.

So not only was it called as hell in the house with no electricity but all I had to eat was dry arse cereal for 4 days. I was so mad LMAO.

Not only that, but I only 3 gallons of gas in the car, so therefore i couldn't go anywhere either since the nearest place that still had power was over 50 miles away.
