BnG give Malwarebytes a try.

Malwarebytes is great at removing virus' and the like, but doesn't actually prevent them, so that should be considered. If you get a virus, and it screws up all of your registry files for example, Malwarebytes won't do you any good, that's why it's good to have a program that can catch a virus as soon as it's on your computer, like AVG.
