Re: Off Topic 2011
Well yeah, I'm not talking about the stuff that leads to people dying or potentially ruining their future
Pretty much this hits the nail on the head. Most hazing is dumb ****, and if you're a freshman going through it, take pride in the fact that most of the people doing it to you went through it too.
Hazing, at least when I was a freshman, wasn't that bad, I think the worst that happened to me was that I and my pledgees had to wear nair on our legs for nearly 2 hours. Aside from the excruciating pain, the only effect was that my leg hair grows in funny.
And I certainly enjoyed some sororities!
Only a keg? I think it was my junior year at MN(I transferred after my soph) they locked the freshman up with 2 or 3 kegs of WARM beer. lol
Well, it's multiple things, first off, most people don't know anyone when they start college, and frats/sororities are a great way to meet people, most people will have a frat that fits their interests, and most of the people there are generally friendly(as with any gathering of people, there are going to be dicks) Also, in the case of my transfer, it immediately gave me something to do in my new city, as I already had frat brothers there. For all intents and purposes, its a more public high school clique sort of thing.
Hazing is just to show dedication and so people can't just join up for any reason and pull pranks. Think of it as a real life captcha. I fully suggest at least finding one that might interest you and going to a meeting, or finding out more about it. Because it's also a great way to meet people, and as everyone in the real world knows, it's not WHAT you know, its WHO you know.
Also I never had no problem getting into any off campus frat party. I didn't need to let some clown embarrass me so I could drink his booze and enjoy the ladies who attended the frat parties.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
First let me tell you I graduated from college 6 years ago. Now even when I was there nothing you can tell me about hazing or pledging makes sense to me. I don't need to do some random bull to be excepted by a group of guys. College for me wasn't to keep the same "cliq" I had in High School. I was there to meet new people and different females.

I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Re: Off Topic 2011
Huh? I only gave a genuine explanation as to what a frat was and what it was, as I (incorrectly) assumed you were actually questioning it. I wasn't hostile at all, unlike your reply. My apologies for mistaking you for someone younger.Support Local Sports

I disagree with the lack of drawing skills. Gotta admit my picture of Fredo getting sent to sleep with the fishes for the word Godfather was pretty badass.

Re: Off Topic 2011
That was so awesome.

Scored when the ball becomes dead in the possession of a team in its own endzone, or when the ball touches or crosses the back of the endzone, or endzone sidelines, and touches the ground, a player, or some object beyond these lines as a result of the ball having been kicked from the field of play into the endzone by the scoring team. It is worth one point. This is different from a Safety (see above) in that team scored against receives possession of the ball after the score.

Officially, the single is called a rouge (French for "red") but is often referred to as a single. The exact derivation of the term is unknown, but it has been thought that in early Canadian football, the scoring of a single was signalled with a red flag.

Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: Off Topic 2011
Ugh...I don't know what it is, but the last few days I've been getting tingling in my left arm/shoulder and shortness of breath, especially when I lay down to sleep. My heart rate seems to be normal, so I don't know what is causing it. The only things I can think of would be a pinched nerve (which I think I have in my back) or anxiety, but I'm not sure. I'm really freaking scared...I just want to know what's wrong with me.Comment
