Stay in a town........Big cities come with big taxes, no yard, lousy parking, jay walkers galore. Sure things stay open much later in big cities, lots of clubs and bars to go to if that is your kind of thing.

Other then that I would never want to live in a big city again. I like my low taxes, I like having an actual yard and space.

In cities houses are way too close together for my liking.

Like I said, with my ambitious fiance (who has already talked about living in Boston, NYC, or Portland), she's not going to want to live in a town much longer, let alone have the jobs for her in a town.

And word to the wise, don't make light of the situation with your significant other. I find the whole thing to be juvenile and completely dumb, but apparently that's not possible with such good friends involved.

And major shallowness and fakeness too. I lived in downtown Chicago for a tad bit. Drove me crazy how shallow and fake people were. All they cared about was money and spending lots of it just to be seen and get their picture taken by magazines.

If you ever do move to Boston don't live in Boston proper but go to Brookline though I think it's a little on the cushy side. It's a nice town from everything i've heard and not too far from Boston itself.

Eh........if Boston going to be the 1st major city you ever live in, it is going to scar you for life about major cities. Their streets aren't made for cars and driving that is for damn sure.

If you never had road rage, you will definitely get it after one hour driving in Boston.

Boston has all the bad features of London, England roads. (I know this because i've been stuck in traffic of downtown London and have heard enough horror stories about Boston to think of them as similar)
