Actually, I'll take what aerobee said one step further. Since I was just in college the past five years, I had a lot of tie-ins with meeting new people, etc. This normally consisted of being able to swipe their iPod as a conversation starter when I scroll down their music. What I can't stand is when I see a band I like/love/acknowledge, and when I see what songs they have from them, all they have is their hit single that plays on mainstream radio.

The biggest problem is, they are disservicing the band by not having listened to any of their other songs that are out there. I don't know about you all, but any band's hit songs normally do not land within my top five favorite songs of their entire discography. Considering I purchase entire albums, I always want to throw their iPod back at them and say, "Here, I'll gladly give you the rest of their songs so that you can broaden your horizon of music."

I don't know if I'm the only one who's like that. It's like they claim themselves to be a fan just because they know "that one song" that everybody else knows.

I actually like seeing bands make it. I think it's cool to see them get the fame, the money, all that stuff they'd been busting their asses for years to try to get.

I'm one of those people. I don't listen to much music and don't have the desire to look up more than what I hear on the radio. I don't consider myself a huge fan of anyone either though, so maybe I'm not who you're talking about

My point wasn't that I'm not happy for them. My point is like Blzer just pointed out. There is much more that that one song you heard on the radio.

It just frustrates me when people pause and tel me shut that off put on so and so. Then years-months later that same artist is the one they want to hear.
