Re: Off Topic 2011
Guys that rent apartments, how much notice does your landlord give when something is going to be done in the building?
The other day I panicked because I had no running water, but when I took my dog for a walk I saw a notice on my door that water would be shut off for a couple hours. That seemed like really short notice.
Today I took out the dog around 2pm and nothing was on the door, later at about 6 I walked to the store and a notice was on the door that said maintenance will be entering all apartments on Wednesday August 17 (tomorrow) to place "bait traps", I'm assuming for cockroaches, which fortunately my apartment is clean of. Idunno, I'm thinking if I hadn't gone to the store I wouldn't have seen the notice and wouldn't have been too happy to see guys unlocking my door and walking in.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

We generally get 5 days to a week notice on things like that. Sometimes more.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Sometimes we get a few days, sometimes we get no notice. But I live in a building with really old plumbing so I guess situations that requre the water to be shut off can come up really quick. I guess it all depends on the urgency of the work that needs to be done.Guys that rent apartments, how much notice does your landlord give when something is going to be done in the building?

Case in point about the old plumbing in my building. I've had 2 instances in which my toilet wouldn't stop flushing. The valve gets stuck or something. The first time it finally stopped on its own after about 15 minutes, but the second time it was going for over 30 minutes before the maintenance guy finally got it to stop. He had to use some WD-40 or something to be able to turn the shutoff valve for the toilet which clearly hadn't been used in some time. Fortunately the tennants aren't responsible for the water bill.See that's what I figured was standard. The other day I had to wait 2 hours for the water to come back on so I could flush the toilet

I think I just lost a million brain cells going through that slide show. Half the people they call frauds were never even good or great to begin with and the others are brought up with absolutely ZERO context.
Besides, any site that calls Tony Dungy a fraud automatically losses me.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
