For the record I still have dibs on Emma Stone. Anyone who disagrees will have to deal with Gator.

Re: Off Topic 2011
Shiz and dan - I go back to the argument that patches have been available for years on PC games and issues still make it through. As the technology has grown, so have the expectations, possibilities, and complexities of programming the games.
Look at how long it has taken for them to patch NCAA. Obviously, even if they did catch the roster glitch, they weren't getting it fixed before their deadline. It's not as simple as it sounds to fix these things. So even if they do know about things like that, they're not pushing back the release of the game. If they do something like NBA Elite when they have the exclusive license, that's much more damaging than releasing a game that does a damn good job of representing football in a video game with some issues.
And Dayman, if I say these things in their "proper" place I get called an EA apologist. Even though I haven't bought Madden in years and didn't buy FIFA11 because their Manager Mode sucked *** in 10 and pissed me off. This is much better for my sanity.
I just don't think that there's nearly enough testing done, and if it's too much of an issue to achieve a proper amount then things need to change. The amount of glitches OS users find alone within the first week is staggering. If they could use even a small part of the community as beta testers, the game would end up 10X more polished on release because they how dedicated the guys would be.-Ohio State-

Re: Off Topic 2011
I make 33k a year and a school awarded me an aid package that covers full cost of attendance...I also have good grades, and am 29 so I've built up a resume and recommendations. But I don't think that matters when the school has a 96% acceptance rate, except I might raise the average GPA.
I also got a pretty healthy award from UW who rejected 4 out of every 5 transfer applicants.
Plus, I'm getting a 2k scholarship from church, and I think I can talk them into converting it to a personal check heheheComment

Re: Off Topic 2011
The women here in Vermont and New Hampshire like walking down the side of the road wearing micro mini skirts and micro mini shorts barefooted. I swear it was like I was watching a swim suit photo shoot.
But nope I seen it at way too many places today like that. At one location this state trooper almost crashed his SUV because he was too busy staring at the women walking barefooted scantly clothed and didn't see the road was curving.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
I can agree with some of that, dan. I feel sorry for the devs because I do agree that these companies probably aren't putting as much money into QA as they need.
And the funny thing is, like you said, there would be scores of people who would be willing to do it just for a free copy of the game. Which is less than peanuts.
I do have this question, though. For yearly sports titles, do you think people would accept getting the product after a season actually started if it meant the game was of better quality?Last edited by ImTellinTim; 08-23-2011, 10:04 PM.Comment

Yeah that would be the Game Changers.....
I remember as a child sports games use to come out after the season already started.Comment

They get a retail copy of the game, right? Serious question, I really don't know. That's too late in the game. So that gives an extra two weeks for them to start working on patches. Not enough for the want it now generation.Comment

I bet you could sell a beta/pre release primarily for bug testing and people would swarm all over it. The only issue would be a lack of personal interaction with the devs that would make the process a little more difficult than traditional means.-Ohio State-
