I must say for the past 10 years it has been a get in where you fit in type of market. A pay check is better then no pay check.

I have a job. Its just starting a real career is the thing. There is basically nothing in my area, so I have to move if I want something now or else do the wait it out and see if anything comes available in my region. Not to mention basically 95% of the listings require at least 1 year of experience. Ugh. Woot reality.

Yeah I remember doing that, Owl pellets or whatever. I remember we had to actually put the skeleton of the mouse back together.

Yeah I had to as well. I was so paranoid that the pellet stuf would get in my mouth I would cough up a storm even though nothing really got in my mouth.

PS: kids who couldn't handle it were excused from class (junior high) so I played it up on some days to skip class. Owl pellets are boring as hell. I'd rather have a two hour lunch period lol.

I worked at a Carvel all last Summer, so i've yet have ice cream since I quit but now i'm half tempted to go to the store and pick some up.

Wait, I thought you were doing stuff with computer programming. I had to dissect a fetal pig in my 9th grade biology class. I didn't have any problem with it though. The worst part was trying to remove the brain from the skull because unlike the rest of it, the formaldehyde doesn't harden the brain tissue so it just comes out in pieces.

I have dissected a cat before. Aside from the smell and a possibly full colon/stomach/bladder, it was pretty cool. I accidentally cut both legs off, though

How do you "accidentally" cut both legs off?

So I had to break up this pretty bad fight today at work and one of them bit me

I guess everyone knows you work at a doggy daycare or else they just plain missed that post because I was expecting some odd comments? What kind of dogs were fighting and were they okay?

I think the worst part is the smell. I can't stand the smell of formaldehyde.

Sometimes having almost no sense of smell has its benefits

Well you get used to the smell and don't notice it anymore. That's a technique used by the body to pick up on new smells around common ones.

I switched. I'm taking general ed classes right now and I'll be starting my efforts towards becoming a journalist in the fall. I was big into 2 things in high school, graphic design and writing. I tried web design because of how much I liked graphic design and discovered I really didn't like it (Sure, the actual graphics portion of it was fun, the actual writing of a site's code isn't. No offense, OS web designers.), so now I'm trying something new.

And if this doesn't work, I'm out of ideas.

Well if you can afford it and don't have any kids yet, MOVE, ASAP. Waiting it out, the years will fly by and life will pass you buy. I tried to wait it out in northwest Indiana.

Nothing came and before I knew it 8 years had went by while I was waiting it out. I said forget this crap, loaded up the truck and moved to New England.

If I get bored here career wise, I will move again, probably to Florida, Texas or Colorado. Go where the jobs are if you can.

Don't ever want to do the I wonder if I did this game, 10 to 15 years from now. I am still kicking myself now for not moving out of my region sooner.

How do you "accidentally" cut both legs off?

Well, we were cutting all the skin and fat off and I accidentally chopped one of the legs (not completely, though). So I try to be extra careful on the other leg, but did the same exact thing

To be honest, I don't know what the one dog was, it looked like a lion. The other one was a beagle mix (I think. I was just sweeping hair on the floor and it broke out behind me and they were really going at it (more so than any other fight I had to break up) and my first instinct was to put the broom in between them, but that did nothing. So I grabbed the smaller one (the beagle mix) and put her like 10 feet away from the lion and tried to calm her down. Another dog came up by my right shoulder to check out what I was doing (I was kneeling) and the beagle snapped at that one and ended up biting my hand. I only had a tiny puncture on my hand and neither of the two dogs were hurt at all
