Agreed. You can dislike him all you want, but if you say he doesn't make good music you're either extremely biased, a liar, or have terrible taste in music.

Dude's released 5 solo albums, all of them went platinum. You don't do that without having talent. Obviously you're good enough to the point where several million people want to listen to you over a 7 year period. And that's not even mentioning his stuff as a producer before he started rapping.

I think most people like the hooks and the overall production values. I'll admit Kanye and some others of his ilk are very slick in the studio but strip it all down and it's not all that great.

It's hard to have longevity without talent...prime example: Soulja Boy. Had one hit song/platinum album and has since fallen off the face of the earth. The song wasn't even that great (catchy, not great), it just got popular because of the dance that came with it.

He's not breaking any barriers lyrically, but he holds his own.
