I gotta do an 8-10 research paper on Harry Potter due in like 6 weeks, now I just gotta find a specific question to write my paper about. That seems harder then actually writing/researching

Yeah wish it was that easy, but it's gotta be more specific and something about culture like racism, feminism, what does a certain thing represent,etc. Basically just gotta have a question then go from there. I got idea but none of them I like argh good thing I got till Thursday to decide.

Feminism could work really well if you compared some of the female characters, perhaps Hermione to Ginny? Throwing out ideas.

I would do something along the lines of comparing gender roles in Harry Potter to other franchises like Lord of Rings...Cause Harry Potter was written by a women, the female characters tend to have stronger characteristics then in other famous sci-fi things written by men.

Teachers eat up anything that has to do with gender inequality.

You could also try to draw parallels between Harry Potter and something going on in the world or in history. Like the persecution of mudbloods compared to the persecution of the Jews (or any group that was involved in genocide.)

And it makes it so you don't have to fill 10 pages with stuff from Harry Potter. You have a ton of info to fill a solid third to half of the paper with.

Thanks for some of suggestions, I think he wants us to keep it specifically about something in the Harry Potter series and trying to avoid the main 3 characters.

Some of things I've just come up are like: Voldemort considers himself all powerful yet he constantly refuses to partake in many deeds until the end, or going with something like that but basically how he's represented as Hitler with his clear racism of muggles/mudbloods.

Unity is preached several times throughout HP, but yet students are separated into Houses which then creates many cliques.

Something to do with Quidditch as that always intrigued me in the series, but I got nothing on that topic.

Noone prolly cares about this stuff but writing these down really just got me brainstorming

One thing that was strange to me in the series was how Harry is this powerful wizard and his foster family treats him like crap. You would think anyone that knew of his special talent would want to capitalize on it.
