Yeah. I mean a week or two prior we had decided (well, I basically just agreed to) a break... or at least space. So it wasn't like it was out of nowhere. But yeah, she made it official through a text.

Funny, a few hours ago I got a text saying she needed to pick up some more stuff from my house and wanted to give me the respect of talking face to face for the first time since she broke up with me (last weekend).

4, going on 5 hours now we've been texting back and forth. It's like she knew I was changing up my strategy and was ready to just sit back and wait. I got sucked in...

... I know it looks bad from the outside. But I'm in love with this girl, the only one I've ever been with and the only one I want to be with. And she hasn't done anything so egregious that would make it easy to move on. I've got too much history to give up, and though I think it is bull**** to be treated this way after 5 years together, it's just how it went down. I'm really not all that pissed about it, if you can believe that.

So now I don't know if she's picking up stuff tomorrow and we're talking or not. I told her it wasn't gonna work, you know, with all the possibilities of what could happen. Basically, we either make up or it's going to be extremely awkward and I'm nervous and excited and scared about what is going to happen. I've got to prepare for the possibility of the highest of highs or the pain of the lowest of lows. Don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight...

Taking a break never works and I'll tell you why...

If you're in love with someone, you don't want space from them.

I went down that road. We took a break and got back together but it just wasn't the same between us. Trust issues were there now and you can't be with someone and have those. You'll fight over the most pointless crap.

I say the next thing knowing it's cliche but it is true. EVERY female is crazy. Not a matter of if, but how much. My ex is quite crazy. My new girlfriend is a little crazy, but not enough to be a big deal. Seems to me judging by that break up via the text move that your ex may be quite crazy.

@Slick I know you love her man, but you're young. Every man has to go through heartbreak at some point (at least I have). The way she did you ain't right at all. No one ever believes this when in the moment, but you'll find someone even better. Trust me.

Slick, the only offense she could commit that would make it easy to move on is kill you. Seriously, it is almost impossible to commit an offense so egregious
that 5 years suddenly means nothing.

But from the outside, she did just about the most egregious thing she could have done.

It's been said before, and it will be said again (all with good reason) that you need to drop this *****. Someone who ends a 5 year relationship through a text doesn't deserve 5 minutes of anyone's time. And besides, logic (something people inside the situation rarely can see) dictates that she is not going to remain with you forever. It hurts now, but when you catch her cheating or she leaves 5 years from now, it gonna hurt more than twice as bad.

One of the best weekends ever, started early in Thursday night when my best friend came in town, went out to a club. Friday went to this girl's apartment for her birthday party, so pre gamed there before going out to another club. Eventually started to hook up with the birthday girl(turns out she's a saints fan, that's a win) finally got back to her place where we stayed up till like 8 am lol. Samething basically on Saturday, except we played football with the girls we went out with(I got traded to the girls team, safe to say I went into Greg Jennings mode). Sunday watched the 1st half of Saints game with the same girl, left at halftime for free lunch with my grandparents(who gave me $30). Also got a 100 on both of my math online homework assignments on 1st try tonight.

That's as close as it'll get to a perfect weekend for me
