I made it to Oregon just barely, I lost 3 people on the final river thing, where I had to control my raft down the river. If it wasn't for my guy being a badass bear hunter, my trip would've ended a long time ago.

Re: Off Topic 2011
**** hit the fan at the office today.
I've been here close to a year. I quickly realized that this place is its' own drama show.
Anyway, three guys who have been here 3-4+ years, respectively, have been planning their own firm, I guess years in advance. This is something I caught on, and eventually they told me and were 'impressed' that I could tell. However, it was beyond obvious.
Anyway, one of the guys is here on a worker's visa through the company. He is getting married soon though. I guess it is part of the defection, somewhat.
Anyway, the other two are all but gone. Tom's last day, he has been year since inception, was Friday. The other guy has 'till the 15th, tax deadline, but he has been using up all of his vaca days.
Today, the one on the visa was fired without notice. It has rocked the office, and here I am, on OS.
Staff meeting in 10 minutes, to give us a briefing.
One thing I've learned, way too much drama in the world, just work. JESUS!

Re: Off Topic 2011
Apparently, and I was completely aware of this before, they have been soliciting clients.
I say I am aware of this, I'm aware of it all, but have kept my mouth shut. I'm way to low on the totem pole to want to say anything. I'm just minding my business, and getting work done. I feel that I know too much, but don't want to get involved at all.
EDIT: Also, these guys aren't too bright. They did all their dirty work, as far as solicitation, on the work e-mail, at the office. SMH.
The best part about this all is that the two main guys that have already left, and now for good, terminated as of today, really thought the firm would, in their own words, 'sink' without them. A sinking ship, as they like to call it.
What this has shown me though is that the boss isn't playing around, and being ruthless and terminating the 3rd guy in this, the way he just did, was the right move, completely.Last edited by cjonesfan921; 10-03-2011, 05:01 PM.Comment
