Well, I don't think you can donate plasma without donating all the other components of blood and I believe the recommend that you don't drive because you will be prone to light-headedness and possible blackouts due to the decreased blood volume until your body can build it back up.

Incorrect. When you donate plasma, they put the blood back in you, which is why you can donate plamsa multiple times in a week. I never had any side effects from donating plasma outside of a calcium deposit in my arm from the needle.

I did it for a summer in college for extra money. Went twice per week and made $50 per week for it
