I hate playing good poker and losing. Went to the casino last night and played $1/$2 NL. I'm at about $130, and the other guy in the hand had about $225.

I have AJ

I was the big blind and raised to $8, everyone but the other doucher folds.

Flop: AQA

He bets $18, I raise to $50. He calls.

Turn: 9

He pushes all in. Three diamonds on the board, but there was no way he called a $32 raise with a flush draw. I feel like he has a queen or a weaker ace. I call.

His hand: A9

River was a blank. He was at about 10% to win that hand before that idiotic card came out. I have to be one of the unluckiest people on the planet. Not a single hand or time period where I thought "I could've played that better", yet I go broke on a suck-out.

Gambling money you always complain about not having - smart move.

I think I'm done with professional sports fandom for a while, or at least try to remove myself from the intensity of emotions I get during games. I've been fighting it for a few weeks, but these past few days have been absolutely psyche-draining. Phillies collapse, Eagles falling into oblivion (and the subsequent **** talk from other teams fans, not to me but about my teams) have actually taken a toll on who I am as a person in real life. I lose sleep over why these teams underperform, and though the Flyers look good so far they have done the same thing for the past two/three seasons. The Sixers are just..the Sixers.

Luckily my Dad's alma mater Rutgers is currently #1 in the Big Least, so I can hold onto that for a while. I haven't really paid attention to LSU this year (my "other" team, but I bleed scarlet without question)...

I'm just sick of showing up, going through the motions, getting excited, spending all that time analyzing and dissecting for something that I have no control over and likely never will. I will never stop loving my teams, but I can't bring myself to care when the players and coaches I'm rooting for don't seem to care either. Don't get me wrong, I will ALWAYS be a fan, and I will never hop "off a bandwagon" but it's not a good feeling at all.

I play about 75-80% sports titles, partially because it's my job to write about them and mainly because it's just what I enjoy doing. I'm finding that the real sporting world is affecting my desire to play these games. Sucks too, because I really, truly love sports gaming. Just a really, really depressing last few days.

I know majority of you don't care, I just needed to vent.

It's not gambling if you're good at it.

I'm very good at poker. I know when the odds average themselves out, I'll be up money. I won't get sucked out on as a 9 to 1 favorite every time.
