Got to meet my cousin for the first time in 30 years today. His dad (my uncle) is my moms brother and my uncle and his wife had a nasty divorce when I was just a baby and my cousin was 6. My cousins mom took him ultimately to California and and we never had any contact with him again until about 2 weeks ago. MY mom, sister, and I met him at this tavern and we ate some food, had some drinks (well, my sister and my cousin drank beer anyway), and talked for a couple hours just catching up and stuff.

There should be a state license you should have to apply for if you want to maintain a beard, because it has some ******* magical powers.

Anyway, sometimes a squib kick is a good thing for all parties involved.

This is a bummer...going to miss both of my family Christmas parties because of work, one tomorrow and one Saturday. Nobody would switch with me at all and one co-worker snapped at me for even suggesting it. I feel pretty bad about it, but there's nothing I can really do other than call off, but I need the cash.

Is it just me or do others on here some times think these 3 guys are really just ONE guy with 3 different OS accounts ? It is like deja vu.

Christmas is the season of GIVING not RECEIVING. It isn't all about YOU and what you want to do.

I'm not going to be able to see my family, it's not like I'm complaining because I'm not getting a present I want. I haven't seen my dad's side of the family in almost a year. I'm not sure you read my post right.

Is wanting to be with your family around Christmas a bad thing?

Yeah I'm fully aware and I don't want to give that side of my family my presence of being there lol.

I literally want to punch one of my step dad's aunt in the face regarding some comments she's made about my real grandma concerning a topic, when I was 10 I told another one of his aunt's to go F off at Easter cause she treats my mom terribly about how she needs to lose weight and get a job,etc. Last Easter I got in to a really big argument/shouting match cause my parents weren't there so I was in charge of my sister and the rest of the familt kept neglecting her and yelling at her for every little thing but held a double standard for the rest of the kids in the family and they still don't understand that.

I could go on and on, but I legitly can't stand Holidays because of that family. It's one of the main reasons that after I get my degree in a few year I want to leave the state of Florida if the right opportunity presents itself or go back down into the West Palm Beach area.

Are you working sunday ?? IF not, then you can see them on sunday on Christmas. Christmas parties are a luxury really. I rather be off on the holiday itself and spend time with my family on the actual day, instead of wanting to see them at a party days before the actual holiday.

Unless they are leaving town Saturday night or something, then that would be different. But if they in town on Sunday, you can always see them then.

It's not worth losing your job over.

Presumably, you will have plenty of Christmases left in your life. Unless the violation for a repeat public urination offender is life in prison or something.

I'm more concerned about the money than my superiors...they waited for this lady's ninth consecutive no show to fire her, and there was another kid who worked there that called off around 25 times in an 8 month period and wasn't even fired...he left on his own. Gonna have to suck it up and go I guess.
