Lol, people from the south think the same thing. They laugh if I order a "hot dawg" but think it is so weird when I laugh when they say "put the dishes up". Also, we get in accidents, not wrecks

Not to mention we also drive on the right side of the road.

And we don't eat "fish and chips".

And hockey isn't our national sport.

And we don't have a giant country spanning wall that you can see from space.

          Yeah, I'm bored.

            We say dawg too.

What's so funny about putting up the dishes? Do you not put them in a cabinet that's above the dishwasher? Hence them being put "up".

I'm talking about pronouncing words like dog and chocolate as dawg and chawcolate. My girlfriend always gives me crap about that and I shoot back with (when she asks me to put something up) putting the item in a high place and saying "There, its up now"

Genereally, us northerners say "put it away" rather than "put it up"

                  I don't call any "beverage" that isn't "Coca-Cola", "Coke".

I call "Coca-Cola", "Coke". I don't think I've ever in my life called it "Coca-Cola".

I call things like Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, etc. "drinks".

If it's purple, it's "drank", not "juice".

                  What the **** is juice?

There's nothing to see here, people! Just pretend it's a Jacksonville Jaguars game and turn your attention to something more interesting, like a PBS documentary on osmosis or something.
It's funny, because a year ago you would have made a blackout joke, but now you can't do that any more, since the Jags didn't have a blackout all year.

Ah Southerners. You guys are just an odd little bunch aren't you

Seriously, I can't understand a damn thing anyone with a real southern accent says down here, I speak clearly and in proper English, yet when talking to a southerner I've got the weird accent, even though they can't enunciate anything for ****. I wouldn't dare venture into any backwater area's here, even though I lived in very rural Ohio. People aren't all right in the head there. Luckily I live in an area that's highly populated with northerners who moved down here to be close to the beach.

                            True story.
                            Husker knows what's up.

I actually say coke and soda, but usually just coke. It's really just a regional thing. People from the south say coke. I picked up the term when I lived in Texas when I was a kid, but I'm not a "Southerner" just to be clear. Nor do I have a southern accent.

Anyway, don't wanna get into any religious debates that'll get this thing locked, but some guy just knocked on my door saying he's a "witness" and he wanted to read me part of the Bible. What!? I'm not religious and I had no idea what he was talking about. He kept asking me religious questions or asking if I knew this or that and he'd go onto read sections of the Bible. I sat there for 25-30 minutes with this guy before he gave me a book on why I should read the Bible. That was weird, but I didn't wanna be rude and tell him to go away.

                                Got a question -

I want to start following the MLB closely again. Growing up I was a Mariners fan (I loved Griffey Jr) but I also liked the Rangers (weird I know) as I got older, I just started following the Rangers only. Eventually, I stopped following the MLB period (as well as the NBA). My question is, I want to go back to following baseball and of course the Rangers, but now I would seem like a bandwagon fan with their success last year.

                                What do you guys think?
