Re: Off Topic 2011
I haven't been able to get out of my Verizon contract because my mom has used my last 2 upgrades without letting me know in advance, so I would've had to drop insane money for the termination fee. The only reason I got the Pre is because they were running a special deal at the time, and at that point everyone was saying there was "no chance" the iPhone would be coming to Verizon until 2012 at the earliest. Had I not been mislead, my contract expiration would've matched up with the alleged iPhone release date.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

A) WebOS is unbelievable. If you think it's just a "wannabe", then, well....I don't know what to say. Wait and see what happens tomorrow is all I can say. It's capabilities are absolutely remarkable. Besides, what exactly do you use apps for? Do you want apps because they recognize random songs playing? What apps are there that you want that are not available in the Pre's app catalog? Serious question. I can get ANYTHING done on my phone. If there isn't a dedicated app for something, there is damn sure a more-than-capable mobile version of whatever I'm trying to access anyway.
B) If your phone is malfunctioning, then its on you to get it fixed or replaced by Verizon. I don't know how their stupid policies work, but when there's a will there's a way.
C) You should have never listened to speculation. Plus, paying a termination fee and going to ATT is probably going to be cheaper than paying SIX FORTY NINE for a phone outright.
It's a damn phone, dude. You need to grow up or else you're going to have serious, SERIOUS problems functioning in the future. Are you trying to impress the people you constantly complain about by getting the iPhone? I mean, the iPhone is a dime a dozen nowadays. I'm more impressed when someone DOESNT have an iPhone, to be quite honest. And after all the crap I've had to deal with as far as college goes, I figured my mom would do something nice instead of making everything about herself, but I guess she needed a new phone to match her new car (her 6th new car in 4 years and her 3rd new car in 2 months, all of which she got by choice).

IDK...I don't think me wanting an iPhone is any different than someone wanting a certain car or a kid wanting a certain toy. I've been waiting for 4 years, I think I've been patient enoughAnd after all the crap I've had to deal with as far as college goes, I figured my mom would do something nice instead of making everything about herself, but I guess she needed a new phone to match her new car (her 6th new car in 4 years and her 3rd new car in 2 months, all of which she got by choice).
I think you need to break free of your parents. Save yourself the trouble. Be a man and do it yourself.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
I agree that LG sucks (I had a horrible time with the ENV2), but the Ally was on sale.. so I got it and I love it.
How is this possible, do you two share a plan? You want this iPhone now but as soon as you get it and the newest iPhone drops you'll want that too. You should wait till you've got the money to pay for the phone or till your contract is up. If nothing else start saving your extra cash and wait for the latest iPhone to come out for Verizon.Last edited by BunnyHardaway; 02-09-2011, 03:10 AM.Comment

And who gives a **** about what your mom purchases? Not everything has to be about you.

Re: Off Topic 2011
I have a professional obligation to recommend purchase of an iPhone and also the app Ash. /shamelessPlug
Seriously, though, $600 for a cellular phone isn't worth it, iPhone or not. Wait for the price drop / renewal special discount / some means to pay significantly less than $600.
Or, work harder, pay off your bills, save some further cash, ensure you have enough for the next round of bills, and THEN get the iPhone if you really must have it at that ridiculous price point. Either way, having read the background of the situation, buying it now at $600 is probably the worst short-term choice you can make.
Not to mention, I'd imagine that your carrier is going to want to increase the cost of your plan for increased data usage plan that the iPhone is likely to carry. Can you afford that on top of the $600 entry fee?Last edited by Hooe; 02-09-2011, 03:11 AM.Comment
