I've spent the last week helping TheGame, Jay F Kennedy, cdub and someone else I might be forgetting edit their roster file for NBA 2K11. The roster itself is great, but it's like the damn game's AI just wants to act dumb as rocks. I almost swear that it's hard-coded that Kevin Durant will shoot every shot, no matter what, every time. Not to mention this isn't just an issue with him or the roster, as it's an issue with 1 player on half the teams in the league and I've had it happen long before I started playing with this roster file. This particular instance was even while I was using DC's playbook edits.
That isn't the only issue either. You have the CPU bringing the ball over the half court line and then passing to a teammate behind the line for no damn reason (only on 1 occasion, but still), all that unnecessary bumping on the perimeter, and other minor annoyances that end up piling themselves into one big annoyance.
It just pisses me off that we have to go through all of this work to get the game playing how it should be playing in the first place. I shouldn't need to spend hours upon hours editing playbooks, tendencies, ratings, etc. just to get guys to play how they do when I watch them in real life.
All of this and I haven't even mentioned NHL 11 and how I just can't have fun playing that either and something always ends up going wrong to mess up my experience. I don't care if I win or lose, I just want a realistic game that resembles what we see on TV, but apparently that's too much to ask for sometimes.
BTW this is a big reason why I've started looking into getting a PS3 because I think I'm getting burned out on sports games (at least the 2011 ones) right now. I wouldn't mind playing games like Uncharted and MGS for a change of pace and not having to worry about realism and all that ****.Originally posted by bradtxmale
