Just got back from watching the Section HS hockey finals here. 2-1 Duluth East over Grand Rapids in OT to get to the State quarters at Xcel. East tied it up with 1:30 left and scored :30 into OT.
The 6600 seat arena was at least 85% full. Great atmosphere and great hockey. State tourney starts on Wednesday.Comment

My great aunt baffles me. For some odd reason, her and her significant other got this idea to move to Florida, more specifically a backwoods-y type place (Tavares I think it's called). When they showed how serious they were, it was ridiculously puzzling...they both have decent jobs here, one gets to take their dog to work, and my great aunt's father is not in the greatest shape health wise. Last week they went down there to visit some family/job hunt, and judging by the pictures on Facebook, they did very minimal job hunting and didn't come back with any progress. You'd think this would make them hold off, but no, they're likely gone by early April. Their response to getting a job? "It's alright, we'll find jobs". I can understand optimism, but to up and leave and just assume you're going to get jobs is freaking asinine, especially in today's job climate.
To top things off, they've been spreading word throughout the family that they won't be coming back up for my aunt's wedding in June. My aunt and fiancée are obviously pretty upset...hell, I'm upset with them and it's not my wedding. They've always been pretty close too. It's amazing how my family has slowly drifted apart in the last 7-8 years. At my last aunt's wedding not a single living family member wasn't there. We'd all be there for holiday parties...we'd all even be at one relative's house some Sundays to watch football/NASCAR. To go from that to this is truly disheartening.Comment
