lies
Here's the main things:
1. My one supervisor (in his 60's) has a really, really weird work relationship with this one kid that works there (19 or 20). My supervisor is a nice guy and doesn't really have anything bad to say about anyone, but the way they act at work is really freaking disturbing. Whenever they're together, my supervisor gets this like...giddy look on his face and giggles like mad. On another note, I'm gonna start calling GIGGAS, GIGGLES. Anyway...
The kid, regardless of which department he's in, follows my supervisor around EVERYWHERE, leaving us with his entire section, and when he doesn't know where he is, he'll ask somebody. They take their breaks at the same time, and this kid get a crap ton of hours despite not really doing his job. My supervisor let this kid go to the eyeglasses store in the mall to get his glasses fixed while he was on the clock (he was gone for nearly 2 hours). He's also really cocky and talks to some of the associates like he runs the place. The one night I worked with both of them, I was on the phone with a customer when I looked over and saw them slapping/tickling each other. The one guy I work with who has known the supervisor for 20+ years has said he's never seen him like this with anybody. Let me add, I view everybody regardless of any of their preferences/affiliations/ethnicities as equal, but two co-workers should not be doing things like this in the workplace.
2. I wasn't there (thankfully), but last Thursday one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard happened. This one guy that works there is on the older side, and isn't quite all there...nice guy, just not all there. He has a history of health issues but doesn't take care of them. I guess he had some sort of intestinal issue and wasn't feeling good, and went to the bathroom for a half hour at a time twice that night. That part is fine, the part that isn't fine is that dude crapped his pants. Not only did he do that, but he was literally leaving a trail of excrement down the aisle of the store. Apparently you could smell him from 10 feet away. He was not sent home and continued to wait on customers smelling like ****, AND the supervisor left the excrement on the floor until the maintenance guy came in the morning. The one guy told me he was gagging the whole time, and the supervisor told him "oh stop, it's not that bad". I would've vomited, guaranteed.
3. This ties into #1 a bit. Thankfully I haven't had to deal with this, but at my store, instead of writing people up and/or firing them, you're punished by getting your hours cut, and not just by like 5-10 hours, but to the point where you're lucky to get a shift. The one guy I talk to there had 12 hours combined in the last 3 weeks and has 5 hours combined this week and next. He does his job and is good with customers, but gets that. Then, there's a lady that's been there for 15 years and constantly gets compliments in our customer surveys. A few days ago she told us her hours got cut drastically and doesn't even have a shift next week. So you have a guy that gets 20+ hours a week who doesn't do a thing, but people that actually do their jobs get punished.
Apparently a few people have gone above our store manager and sent in complaints in the last few days, so I'm expecting the fireworks to start going off shortly.

Re: Off Topic 2011
Meh, it's not that interesting.
First off, she's an incredibly unhappy person and is pretty rude to everyone, customers included. She'll constantly stand at the counter with her head down as a customer stands there waiting to be helped, or tell them "I can't do that at this register, go to another one". Stuff like that.
Second off, she developed a dislike for me when she found out my stepdad was a cop. Apparently her daughter was married to a cop who works with my stepdad, but after they divorced she gained a hatred for all things police. I've been told she's called my stepdad an "arrogant bastard" among other things.
When I got hired, she was in charge of training me. She did a horrible job. She would tell me how to do something and then yell at me the next day for not doing it another way. She'd leave things out so she could yell about me not knowing how to do it. She'd yell at me for not being in the shoe department while I was waiting on someone in the men's department. If we are both working at the catalog desk and I am out folding or something and a customer comes up, she'll yell for me to help them. I guess one night last year she was going to fire me without informing my manager. I also got the "1 shift in 3 weeks" treatment. It's basically been a year and a half of stuff like that.
Also, I've been told that if I come into work and I'm in a good mood, she says "he must've taken his medicine today". Not only is that unprofessional but as someone who actually has had to take medicine for depression and anxiety before, extremely offensive and out of line.
The tip of the iceberg though was the Thursday before Christmas. I had off but went in to get some gift boxes so I could finish wrapping presents. We keep all the gift boxes back there, so I went back there. She looks at me, keeps eye contact for a few seconds, puts her head down, then walks away. I stood there for like 2 minutes before the one girl in shoes came over and got me boxes. I told my manager about it, and this is when he finally talked to her. Apparently she got so angry about it she went to send in her retirement information, but they talked her out of it.Comment
